Why am I not surprised to see a corelation between a lot of new posts here and most of them being wasted?
Oh, and Anchorman is only laughable in the way it's not that funny.

By the way: I do not own a dog. (Nor does a dog own me, for that matter) I love all animals uniquivocally, yeah & verily, even poisonous , spitting adders, and spiders, and flies, you name it. Horses especially deserve our love and respect.
It is human beings, after our mutual fall from grace, who must work hard to strive to earn such respect. Many fail.

Sorry you feel it was "wasted", Weeping. I'd offer an apology if our posts had nothing to do with movies, but as that is simply not the case (re: 101 Dalmations), I don't feel as if that is necessary.

Unlike some of this other movies, Anchorman is definitely Will Ferrel humor. IF you're one of those people who laughs at just about everything the guy does, you love it. If you're one of those people who laughs at some of his stuff, and sometimes says "Whatever" to him, I can understand why you wouldn't like it. I woudln't say it was his BEST work ever, but he could make me laugh reading the phone book, so I loved it. |

In fact, I'd go so far as to suggest that they are extremely relevant to anyone who cares the least bit about the movies that get made, edited, and distributed to us on a mass consumption basis. If you don't mind my saying so Weeping, I'd like Phil to keep em coming. (I don't mean for him to steamroll us with dozens of examples from that "morality"-site to the point where we must groan "enuff already"; I mean merely to point out that Philemon has not strayed one iota from the prerequisite topical elements of this Movie board). |

"wasted" probably wasn't the right term, thorn, i apologize. Let's just lighten up, I didn't see anything anyone was trying to purposely agitate with. If we don't have anything to say about the exact thing being discussed, just let it pass by.

There needed to be something to actually work with, though, and the film obviously put little effort in that. His character would have worked well in an SNL skit, but is too charicaturish to be stretched out for that long, there's no home base of it to return to. Here's what I wrote whenever I saw it: |

I'd say that's a fair review. I obviously liked the movie more than you did, but I can definitely understand where you're coming from in what you said. And you're right -- there ARE better movies like this. I would take Old School or Dodgeball over Anchorman.

This thread is a huge monster, I was going to restart after 100 pages, but that obviously passed by. Head over to the 2.1 board for the usual gab. This isn't going to be deleted or anything, so don't worry. Just long enough to make it impossible to find anything within.
