Way to go with The Hold Steady, maarts. It's not that I don't like Spoon, I really do. It's just that Hold Steady is probably my #1band of the moment. They're on fire. Saw them last week with Les Savy Fav- they were very impressive. Separation Sunday is a damn fine album too. I don't mind Spoon but this is what I am into right now. Did Thunderbirds Are Now! also play that show? I know they're doing some touring in Australia with Les Savy Fav. I haven't seen them with their new drummer yet, but they're always ace live. And their last album was one of the best of last year, IMO. |

They did but they were unfashionably early on so we missed the show- we got to the Gaelic Club right after work on Saturday (we close atr 7;30 PM). We even tried to get them instore for a performance but they couldn't come u[p with a time. Heard a bit of the album and it sounded promising but I need to listen properly to it which is always tough to do when you work in a music shop and you're doing 6 things at the same time...

I hope it was the full length you were listening to. They put out an EP last year too that was so-so. But the album is awesome. |

I can't participate in this one since I've only heard 7 of the 16, but for the record, I'm hoping the Shins survive as far as possible. "Gone For Good" and "New Slang" are certainly 2 of the best songs of this decade thus far.
