I'd have Ten and VS on my list. I think I'm the only Pearl Jam fan on the planet who doesn't like those two albums. I think a dislike of Ten and Vs. is extremely, extremely common with PJ fans these days. Over on some of the Pearl Jam geek boards, Ten gets more love than No Code ... I was thinking of Riot Act just because it was IMO a step backwards from Binaural. RA felt flat, and just lacked passion that was on most of the other albums. "Can't Keep" and "Green Disease" however are two great Pearl Jam songs though. To me, most of the album just seemed unfinished. Plus, and this is a big one, a lot of the songs don't translate well live.

Thorny, on your recommendation alone, I'll give Emotive another shot tomorrow... you have a way of putting things that completely makes me wanna look again at it - will give it a new go! yeah, man. . . you should. That's cool . . . I'd be interested to hear back, later on this board, what your thoughts are upon giving it another chance.

DR DRUM! Adore was OK but MACHINA takes the bullet? WHY? Machina, though not a prefect album, has some excellent stuff on it. I recommend you listen to it again! So does A Ghost is Born! I kinda liked it when Wilco wore some strange influence on its sleeve (yea, Neu on Spiders and Kidsmoke)-- and I will admit--Im your man by Leo C has some stupid fucking catchy kareoke type songs on it. "Aint No Cure For Love?" Yeah! I hate it! but I love it too. It still stays on the list cos it is bad. Good old Leo C deserves more than a casio drum track. C'mon! There is still no excuse for THE JAZZ POLICE!

I just think we need to lock Ken in a dark room with some headphones for him and A Ghost is Born to start seeing eye to eye with each other. He will then admit that "At Least That's What You Said" and "Spiders" kick more ass than ever thought possible.

Adore and Machina are both fine albums. What are they being mentioned for? Unless the thread got changed to "Albums by great bands that are okay but not as good as their best stuff". In which case Adore and Machina qualify, but the thread becomes a bit pointless. I must defend Corgan's godlike genius status.
Kill Uncle, on the other hand, is a real clunker.
Also:
The Cure - The Top/Japanese Whispers Oasis - Be Here Now Faith No More - Album of the Year Primal Scream - Probably about half their catalogue

Oasis- Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants. Be Here Now actually sounds pretty good beside that one...
Adore has maybe an EPs worth good songs the rest is filler, junk.

Pablo Honey is an obvious pick we've forgotten about. Or did someone mention it already?

Actually I'd say PH is in same baost with Machina...it isn't anywhere near as great as the other stuff but it isn't bad either.

The worst of the best will always be Around The Sun by REM. The rest of my disappointments in no particular order...
Coda – Led Zeppelin One Hot Minute – Red Hot Chili Peppers (Can't listen to this all the way through. About 2-3 decent tracks tops!) Exciter – Depeche Mode (wake me up when this album ends...zzzzzzz) Kid A – Radiohead (I know many love it. I never could get into it. Bleeps and soud effects are NOT melodies) The Beekeeper - Tori Amos Rattle & Hum - U2 Down On The Upside - Soundgarden (Cornell's solo album that followed was a huge improvement over this crap. Even some Audioslave is better! "Pretty Noose" still rocks though.) Nocturama - Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds

You guys gotta cut Radiohead some slack for Pablo Honey. It was their debut. They got much better with the next couple of releases... up until Kid A which is where I lost them. I didn't even bother with Amnesiac after that one. Kid A left-overs? Um, no thanks, you can keep 'em. I did buy Hail to the Thief though, a minor step in the right direction.
