What's wrong with loving some Jackson Browne? Running on Empty, The Pretender ... some great stuff there. He lost the plot there in the late eighties, but his seventies work had some awfully high peaks. It's fashionable to dismiss him today b/c of his association with bands like the Eagles and that whole laid-back California rock vibe, but Browne was a first rate songwriter back in the day. And anyone who worked with David Lindley could definitely rock out on occassion as well. You're on your own with America, though, Bow, and I don't know if even Loggins or Messina would join you in defending their work today.
