Death From Above 1979 was a two piece from Toronto.
Isn't James Murphy the LCD Soundsystem guy?

Oh, Sorry, I confused DFA1979 with James Murphy's label DFA. My mistake. Carry on.

I was going to just post this at CanCon, but I figured everyone should know who the best rawk band in the world is right now. C'monI somehow missed this when you first posted it. I came across these MTV clips before and thought it was hilarious to see the typical dorky MTV VJs interviewing Ian & Co. So awkward. And yes, C'mon kicks so much ass it's ridiculous. Is there anyone in rock 'n' roll cooler than Ian Blurton? I think not.

unedited version of "Jeremy" this difference is the boy puts a gun in his mouth...the edited version makes it look like Jeremy killed the students in class, but really he kills himself www.youtube.com/watch?v=RUkZqY0aEiI

That is a huge ass venue. Are Placebo that popular wherever that is, or were they sharing the bill with some other band(s)? Anyway I'm no Placebo fan, but that was a great rendition of a great song. Ego Wrappin' perform "Katsute..." www.youtube.com/watch?v=0WrC8ce7XN0I like this band, but not enough to go to their concert unless they're on the same bill with someone else I want to see. Which happened the other month, but they didn't play this song. Bastards.

No, Placebo were definitely headlining. That's either from France or Belgium. They have a huge following in Europe, and in South America I think. The night I saw them [in a sold out venue in Athens] they closed with the same song, minus Frank Black so it was probably from the same tour. They do put on an great show and are worth checking out for sure.
