My first post on this board, dunno why. Anyhoo, here's a sweet version of Built To Spill's "Kicked It In the Sun" by a some couple with an acoustic guitar. Lovely, it is. www.youtube.com/watch?v=YRa1oCd_LsU

IMO this just plain kicks fuckin' ass....the only drawback is that I can't find a link that doesn't interrupt the momentem between the two tunes. On a crowded highway, this would be Floyd & Porcupine Tree mixed with touches of Opeth & My Dying Bride perhaps.....well, maybe not completely evident on these clips, but say these guys know how to work a string section into a full frontal assault! Thorny, Maarts ---- I think in particular you dudes might like this. www.youtube.com/watch?v=W-TJxj1YVy0www.youtube.com/watch?v=tvc_YuEqpI4ANATHEMA - " Shroud of False / Fragile Dreams" I like latterday Anathema a lot- haven't listened to them in a while! Cheers for the tip! Been retracing some classic Australian beat- this one is fantastic, complete with Batman-them at the end: www.youtube.com/watch?v=og0l5D_Z2K0

Cheers for the tip!Yeah, they've had quite an interesting 'arc' in their sound from the likes of death metal complete w/cookie-monster vocals to the more melodic yet still moody period where these cuts/vids come from. I just love the live string section playing the nice gentle classical bit and then when the band kicks in,,,, YEAH! Nice lighting sequence there too with the jammed up ending. Like I said though, it's a shame that it's broken up on UTUBE into 2 segments. RE: The Easybeats --- that was a blast watching. You realize the time of it in the 60's and dang, what energy they had going!

Yeah, that's one of my favorites on "Gone". It's such a beautiful song.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=nXtHLn0FlYcPJ Harvey smack bang back on form. I love the lyrics too. ********************************************** www.youtube.com/watch?v=lJMTtzlcjdUAnd this is kind of why Riley and I used to fight to the very last retort for the right to the PJH hand, I guess. Stockings, all fours, and a rare song. What a combo! Ahem, though she doesn't interest me anymore of course.

Short clip from show I was at last weekend --- local "aggressive/acoustic guitarist" Michael Kelsey had a CD release party at the brewpub and he pulled LD Miller (also from Lafayette) up on stage to sit in on a couple songs. Probably have heard me mention LD before --- only 15 years old and can play a mean harp. A mean harp. You might notice as he duels it out with the drummer that he's got it hooked into a wah-wah pedal.... www.youtube.com/watch?v=KVPoUcOjsQ0

Hey Don, Downloading that Kelsey/LD clip right now. I lurved the hell outta that Kelsey Freebird thingy he did so I figure this'll be pretty good too. Btw, on a different subject, here's the drum solo to end all drum solos: www.youtube.com/watch?v=WgeX9iYOFSQ&feature=related

yeah buddy, that's rich! Love the bit between the 3 & 4 minute mark where he works the snare out to the rim and back. Think I've pulled that clip up before when I was searching for one of his "Tonight Show" moments. I remember being a kid and that's where you always saw him....was amazed he did all he did while wearing a coat & tie!
I wish that Kelsey clip contained his entire song ("Satellite") as it loses some impact coming in at the final 3 minutes or whatever. LD's brother Cole shot it and posted it at my asking....guess he wanted to spotlight lil' brother and that's it. Nothing like being there for the whole show though.
