www.sendspace.com/file/mndkv3I love this album. Definitely one of my favourites of the year so far. Even if you don't like old Silverchair , there's a good chance you'll find something to like about this one.

I'm (probably) one of the minority here who very much enjoys silverchair...got 3-4 of theirs and diorama, their last, was just fanfuckingtastic with its van dyke parks string arrangements and all...
i'm grabbing this one sometime tonight after everyone's asleep at home...
thanks kool.

If you liked Diorama, you'll probably love this. This too has a few Van Dyke Parks contributions, but over all I think it's a stronger effort.

thank you..I"ve never heard any Silverchair so I'm looking forward to this...weren't they the group that were almost preteens when they had their debut...Aussie band, right? www.sendspace.com/file/mndkv3I love this album. Was wondering if anyone has the following Icehouse albums (or if they could be re-uploaded):
Primitive Man (Remastered with Bonus Tracks) Measure For Measure (Remastered with Bonus Tracks) Code Blue (Remastered with Bonus Tracks)
Thanks!

Hmm, don't have the albums, only the box set that came out 10 years ago.

codeblue, damnit, I have had all of those on cassette at some point, but ya know, just prior to moving to the US I threw out all of my cassette tapes... :-(
I probably wouldn't have been able to upload them in any case, I guess... don't give up the search though, Icehouse made some quality stuff, only to fade away into relative obscurity...

A mix of Quruli songs. I compiled this mix for another message board (well okay, Sedaka), but I know there's a few people here who liked what they've heard of this band, so here it is: www.sendspace.com/file/vqr39mTrack list 1. World's End Supernova 2. Morning Paper 3. Wandervogel 4. Millenium 5. Highway 6. Race 7. Baby I Love You 8. Machi 9. Guilty 10. River 11. Akai Densha 12. Hometown 13. Army 14. Aoi Sora 15. Hawelka 16. Ameiro No Heya 17. Hana No Mizuteppou 18. Bara No Hana 19. Yado Wa Nashi

Ok, does Quruli have a fixation with water or something? Serious! I just watched 5 videos by the band and each had either the ocean, swimming pool, pond ("River" - the turtles were cool!), rain, etc.
Another thing that I'm curious about (and how it's viewed in the band's own country, if at all) is that several songs have a line or two sung in English, usually in the chorus. I've noticed that before with bands from Germany, Africa, Mexico, and elsewhere. The list here even has 1/2 the song titles in English. It's obviously not an unusual thing in lands where it's not the native tongue and I would suspect points to reaching a wider audience. Just something I've noticed over the years.......

Haha, I never noticed that about the water.
As to the language thing, I think it's just that rock, or most modern pop for that matter, is seen as a style of music that originated in the US, so incorporating English seems natural I guess.
I personally would prefer it if vocalists here sung in Japanese, but having an English phrase or two in the lyrics is so prevalent that I've gotten used to it and don't really mind it. I still cringe sometimes when I hear singers trying to sing whole songs in English, because a lot of the times the grammar is just messed up.
Bow - I hope you like it. That mix was intended towards people who have indie rock tastes. I'm gradually starting to move away from that type of music, although the appearance of another band who are as good as Quruli (seriously, the indie rock scene in Japan is horrendously boring right now) might pull me right back.
