I love both Echo and Hard Promises, but Bow, how can you say these are better than Damn the Torpedoes? Century City, Don't Do Me Like That, Here Comes My Girl, Even the Losers, Refugee ... especially Refugee (one of the very finest rock singles ever, IMHO).
Damn the Torpedoes is practically "Tom Petty's Greatest Hits, Vol. 1" ...
Agree with you completely on Costello and Peter Gabriel, though. Those are both great, great records.

Faith No More - no idea Mr. Bungle - who the hell are they? These two are inter-related. Just in case you should wonder, FNM scoped Patton, frontman for Mr. Bungle and asked him to join. He did. So he fronted both Bungle and FNM, both when he was very young. If you recall the "Epic" video, you'll notice he was wearing a Mr. Bungle t-shirt, a gesture I find quite amusing because he really made no qualms about considering FNM a side-project. He was an asshole. But both bands, while talented in their own right(s), were nothing without him. That was stupid. I just like Mike Patton a whole damn lot.

I'm actually seeing Petty and Pearl Jam one week from tonight. Not super geeked about Petty, as I'm not much of a fan, but I bet he'll be fun at least.

Dude, he's a rocker like few others. But he's a total asshole in person. Which makes him much more of a rocker,

I'm barely even really going for Pearl Jam (although I am excited to see them). It's more just a fine little side trip to Milwaukee with a friend who will be visiting from Colorado. She's Pearl Jam obsessive but for me its just a fun mini-vacation with my best friend that I see twice a year.
Anyone got suggestions for other things to see in Milwaukee just in case we hang around the city on Friday?

But I don't want to fuck a cow. It's like you've told the lie so many times you start to believe it yourself.

You're right, Paul. Neil Young would actually be cool if he DID suck on some man marbles, but instead he's a no talent hack that needs to be put down old west style, right between the eyes.

I'm in no way, shape, or form a Petty fan, but he brought out the big guns at Bonnaroo. Even had Stevie Knicks come out for a surprise appearance for a few songs. Very over-the-top type deal. Was with some Petty fans and they gave the show a 10/10, I guess.
