I think maybe my recent lack of success with the ladies has me paranoid about the gay accusations.

Do you let them know that people on not one but two message boards think you're awesome?

Do you let them know that people on not one but two message boards think you're awesome? For some reason that doesn't seem to help.

Wasn't there a thread dedicated to discussing how hot Rocky is somewhere? I was reading through some of the old threads from my hiatus days the other week, and had that in mind when I made the lady magnet comment. Anyway, yeah, don't let the ostensible masculinity of this project intimidate you, girls. You are more than welcome.
I'm not savvy enough to edit out the crowd noise and such, so whoever ends up getting my mix is going to have to live with Keiichi Sokabe shouting out the title of the next song, with a different band playing next.

Rocky is indeed awesome and is just fooling us all by claimng to not be a ladykiller. Come on now. As for this swap - I'm not a big fan of live tracks so I'm skipping out. Actually, I've skipped all of them because I'm just pretty lazy and know I would end up keeping someone waiting for months for their CD. Though I did almost join in on the cover disc one because it sounded pretty cool... but I'd hate to ruin the macho bonding. Anyway, look forward to seeing the reviews.

Rocky is indeed awesome and is just fooling us all by claimng to not be a ladykiller. Come on now. I wish it was all a ruse. Unfortunately my current slump is reaching an epic length. It's pretty awful. I can partially attribute it to moving here in December and knowing exactly zero girls in this entire city (other than my friend Pat's wife, who obviously doesn't count) up until about March. Since then I've met a few, but haven't had many opportunities really. I'm going to a party tomorrow night where there will be at least three I'm into though...so we'll see how that goes. Before I moved here though...that was just an incredible slump. Part of it is that I was living at home and didn't really have much game...but it was mostly that I'm a big puss when it comes to talking to girls, and was sort of bummed about my whole life situation and that probably wasn't very attractive to the ladies. Anyway, now that we're way off topic...how about getting some ladies into this swap? You sure you don't want to do it, Tunes?

I'm not a big fan of live tracks Yikes, that's insane. Live recordings are the next best thing to actually seeing the band live IMHO. Nothing like reliving a show you saw by hearing a band play the same songs live on CD. And you get the added convenience of being able to hear them anytime you want to. Speaking of which, one of the tracks from my mix will feature yours truly as part of the crowd noise, so that's one thing to look forward to when you get my mix.

Ooh, thanks. I'll try that when I put my mix together.

For what it's worth, if I wasn't married I'm sure I'd be terrible at the whole dating thing. The only boys I tend to meet and befriend these days are either gay or attached or both, and are usually people I work with or friends of people I work with. Makes for comfortable friendships with no worry about 'what if one of us has feelings for the other...?' - but it would also make things pretty disastrous for dating. Going out to a pub with a group of guys isn't really conducive to meeting new guys, I'm pretty sure. Anyway, tomorrow's party sounds promising. Make sure you smell nice. As for the CD swap - nah, I'll skip this one (I shouldn't say I dislike live albums exactly, but I really don't have very many, and certainly none that everyone and their dog around here doesn't already own). Maybe the next round though.

I'm probably going to include a few from shows I attended and then downloaded as well. Might even throw one in from my old band. I haven't listened to that CD in a while and I don't really remember if it's good enough to not be embarrassed by it. We'll see. Anyway, I love some live albums, but I understand why a lot of people wouldn't. Some bands are not that great live, and a lot of times the studio versions just sound better than a live recording. I also have, in the past, left myself worth a worse memory of a show I attended after going back to listen to it again, and that totally sucked. Sometimes a memory of a show can be much better than a re-listen, and it sucks to have that great concert experience ruined.

Rocky, couldn't that also just be attributed to bad recording? A properly released live album, with the mixing and shit done professionally is one thing, but an amateur job is something else, isn't it? I personally hate it when a great live performance is ruined by sub-par recording/mixing.

Not that I know anything about recording, mind you. Just wanted to preempt Skvor from going "you know nothing about recording, fool"

Oh yeah, a poor recording can be the problem, but there are plenty of poorly recorded official live albums out there too. And some well recorded stuff that didn't hold up as well as it did at the time too. I don't know, I just think live albums are incredibly hit or miss.
