Damn, Ryo, simmer.
Yeah, sorry I didn't get around to that today (or was it yesterday?). This holiday weekend is destroying me. It's 5:30 a.m. here. I got home from a party about 45 minutes ago, talked to my brother in Botswana for a while, and now I'm just fucking awake for no reason. I'm going to collapse soon, but whenever it is I finally get up, I promise I'll do those pairings.

No problem man, everything's groovy. Have a nice rest.
I won't be able to work on the disc until the weekend anyway, sorry for my impatience. I'm a mix CD swap virgin, so that should probably explain things.

It's all good. Without your enthusiasm this round of the swap probably wouldn't be off the ground at all.
Just to warn you though, most of the people who do this are pretty slow with getting their discs out, so seriously, don't rush yourself getting that thing put together.

Apparently less than 4 hours of sleep was all my body needed after a long night of drinking. How the hell does that work? I assume I'm in for a crash later on today, but in the meantime....
HERE
WE
GO!!!!!!!
I will send to Holzman Ryosuke will send to Fuzznuts Luke will send to JAC JAC will send to Ayinger DED will send to Me Fuzznuts will send to lunatic Ayinger will send to Luke Riley will send to maarts maarts will send to DED Holzman will send to Ryosuke lunatic will send to Riley
That got everyone, right? I hope that works for everyone -- the only request I got ahead of time was that Ryo didn't send to Luke since he's already sent him so much music. If anyone else has any requests....well, you should have fucking spoken up sooner, but we can probably work something out.
God damn, it took like six tries for me to pick Ayinger so that he wasn't sending it to himself.

Cool, I drew Ken. So I can expect to receive it in early 2007, maybe? I'm not really familiar with what kind of music Fuzznuts likes, but it's not as I have enough live material to customize my mix to fit anyone's taste so it really doesn't matter I guess. Prepare to be tormented by words that will sound gibberish to you, Fuzznuts (though I'll probably throw in an instrumental or two in there, to ease things up a bit). Thanks for doing this Rocky!

Any requests Rocky? Anything you definitely don't want on it? I probably couldn't do an entire CD of live versions of Whichta Lineman anyway so let me know if you have particular intest is something.

OK, so I'm supposed to send Ryo all my live Elvis Costello and the Attractions? Heh, I remember talking about that way back in, what, 2000? The Attractions were a hell of backing band on the studio releases I've heard, so a live Attractions comp would be great. I was supposed to send you a mix of Japanese music too, wasn't I? I think it's pretty cool that we managed to procrastinate this for over a half a decade.

The live version of "Watching The Detectives" that came on my copy of Armed Forces as a bonus track is probably one of my favorite live tracks of all time.

If people are looking for solid tracks to balance out their mixes, "She's Gone" worked particularly well on this live set imo. Standard H & O Inc. royalty structures apply for usage of course.

I'm tempted to request a hole CD of Wichita Lineman just to challenge you. But otherwise, no specific requests, as I trust your musical judgement.

I'm tempted to request a hole CD of Wichita Lineman just to challenge you. But otherwise, no specific requests, as I trust your musical judgement. seriously: jazz-rock guitarist Johnny A does a very decent instrumental of it on his first solo outing....... Johnny A. is a Boston guitarist who has spent time playing with keyboardist Bobby Whitlock (Derek & the Dominos), percussionist Mingo Lewis (Santana), and ex-J. Geils frontman Peter Wolf. Sometime Tuesday Morning is A.'s extremely tasteful and classy debut solo CD. It is an all-instrumental project with A's guitar serving as the voice. Melodic and warm, it contains a handful of covers and eight originals. Imagine Willie Cobbs' blues classic "You Don't Love Me" with a funky, revamped lead lick, a little wah-wah, and chords and octaves that recall Wes Montgomery. Or a beautiful, melancholy version of Jimmy Webb's "Wichita Lineman," laced with enough melodic nuances and afterthoughts to give you some serious goose bumps. AMG
