Ayinger, I can either play by the rules and send you a long song disc and a short song disc, or send you two long song discs and hope that I don't get ass-raped as punishment for not following the rules.

It's gonna be quite difficult to find songs maarts hasn't heard. Probably don't have any. But it'll still be an excellent mix, fo sure. I hope you like Guided by Voices and The Minutemen!

I have a GBV mix that Glenn made for me a couple years ago. Don't have any Minutemen.

Ride whichever wave feels best to you Ryo -- I'd look forward to anything you'd send my way! (and personally, don't fear any such retribution coming from this end to your 'end'........)

Okay, I'm doing two long discs. That's gonna be hell of a lot easier than doing a short disc of like 30 songs. I was actually glad that I drew you, because I figured that you of all people would let me get away with it. Do you want to pm me your address?
So what's the status of this thing now that the Rockster is gone?

Ayinger, since you said such flowery things about me in the pm you sent, I'm going to add a bonus CD consisting of songs that are neither particularly long nor short.

In the IM A BIG BABY department: Im not participating in the mix swap anymore. I put a little work into mine. Took it to the post office. No track lists very basic. But some good tunes. Line of elderly people a mile long. Son had to go to the bathroom and post office didnt have one. So I had to cross 9 rows of traffic (a little exaggeration there!) and back again to be behind another mile of people complaining how long the lines are. AND THEN the recipient says he got it a few days ago and hasent got a chance to listen to it yet. I sent his and a few others in the states and I sent some music to a friend ACROSS THE FUCKING GLOBE (im not exaggerating here) (non priority mail) and he got it in a week. Im just saying. Whats the point? Im bitching like a baby but it does piss me off to a certain extent. I dont like being lied to. Just tell me it sucks and be done or if you dont want a mix from my ass be honest. Count my ass out!

Hey, I'm sorry. I don't think it sucks, if I did I'd tell you. I appreciate the time and effort you put into to it...part of it is I'm a bit of a slack ass and part of it is I got a lot of shit going on right now. I mean this with all due respect, if you think your mix ought to have become a high priority in my life I'm sorry to disappoint you, it isn't. I've listened to them and I mostly enjoyed them. I still intend on writing a review, probably later today. I haven't put Fuzz's shit on disc yet much less got it to the post office. I can map out the bullshit in my life right now if it'll make you feel better or you can trust me when I say I meant no offense.

That's a pity, Glen. I don't know what brought on this post but it would be a shame to lose one mixswapper who has probably one of the finest, if not most rockingest collection around and could teach many of us whippersnappers some hard lessons.
As for my mixes- darn golly, I got Mary! Now that put the pressure straight on me. What the fuck have I got in my collection that could interest her and also meet the standards of expectation- well, it is Mary after all! Long mix- no problem. Short mix? Crap. I still have about 2500 of my CDs wrapped in boxes in the guest bedroom and the place looks like a second hand warehouse- CDs everywhere! Tomorrow it will rain- I'll get to it then.

I don't have a track list or I'd do a track by track...for 41 songs that could take awhile. Anyways there some of pretty much everything on here. Nice flow...the segue from track 3 to 4 is pretty sweet. I don't know either of those titles but it was a spoken word thing into a nice little R&B cooker. Yeah a real nice mix of T. Rex, Run DMC, Dylan, The 'Mats, punk, 60's, a couple metal tracks...seriously there's a little bit of everything on here but it all manages not to sound just like pile of songs. It'd pretty easy for a mix like this to turn into a real mess about half way through but this seems well sequenced with a nice variety. I would like a track list to know what all the stuff I should know but don't know is. I give it a solid A.
The long mix is a slightly harder nut to crack. I'm on it though, giving it another run through before I admit I don't know most of the bands on it either. Though I'm sure I should and will feel stupid when you tell me who they are.
