The Beach Boys didn't own the sixties.
Frag is right that the Fabs are just inseparable from this decade. Name a musical/pop culture trend of the era, and the Beatles were at the forefront of it. Not only that, but they dominated the decade from'63 (in Britain) or '64 (US) right up to the start of the seventies. No other band/artist was so dominate for so long (unless you want to count "Motown" as a single artist, which is hardly fair).
