I'm supposed to like the 'mats?
OK, since I'm just a few years younger than Westerberg, grew up in the midwest too, etc. I guess if anyone "should" like the 'mats, it would be me. Which is why they sold about a dozen records in the eighties and fucking idiots like Motley Crue and Warrant made bajillions of dollars. Fuck, nobody listens to the Replacements b/c they're "supposed" to.
Bloody hell, I know that this is just a board for talking shit and all, but there's something about this that just set off a nerve for me. Maybe it's because in the eighties nowhere near enough people actually listened to the 'mats, maybe I'm just a crotchety old man right now, I dunno. Anyway, everyone can feel free to ignore this whole post. Whatever. Nevermind.
"Color Me Impressed" is still better than the entire Pink Floyd catalog. And "Here Comes a Regular" blows away everything that Nick Drake ever recorded, too.
Summer's passed, it's too late now to cut the grass. Ain't much to rake anyway in the fall.

Honestly, I think Warrant and Motley Crue are both better bands than The Replacements. I understand the whole "they didn't sell that many records at their time" thing because I feel that way about a lot of bands. I think it's because deep down The Replacements were boring.

Warrant and Motley Crue was my first concert. As it turns out Warrant was terrible and Motley Crue only made two and half good albums. Oh misguided youth, where have you gone?

And Fleetwood Mac sucks*. *note - the popular Fleetwood Mac, not the Peter Green era

The Peter Green era is some fine british blues, 1967-1970 - Buckingham/Nicks era was 1975 and on. Two very different bands sound wise.

Shout at the Devil was one of the best albums of the 80s.
And yes, it was much better than Too Fast For Love, which is the "acceptable" Crue album to like. Not that Too Fast For Love doesn't rock.
Replacements are ok.

Too Fast For Love is a ton better then Shout At The Devil, though those are the two good albums.

I'll have to agree w/ded's sentiment, that TFFL is a better album than SATD.
Then again, I own TFFL on vinyl but not SATD. And I was never into em in high school (scorning them as cheap lousy hairmetal versions of Aerosmith wannabes). All this is to say, I am simply not qualified to truly discern which of the 2 albums is better.
All I know is, TFFL rocks ~!
