I like A Man Needs A Maid but I like it better without the orchestra and I like Out On The Weekend, Words and Alabama. Heart Of Gold's the big hit but it's just ok.

"Heart of Gold" is the weakest song on Harvest, in my opinion.

So Harvest right now has a one vote lead over "Nelson" ... I like this poll.

Ken, did you know that the red handkerchief in Bruce's back pocket is a gay signal for "I'm available, and I'm a 'bottom' "? That's your worst avatar yet. Now we have to look at Bruce's ass every time you post. Put Human Touch as your avatar. That album alone is worse than anything Neil Young has ever put out.

Ah, but Human Touch also has "Man's Job" which would be one of Neil's top five songs if he'd been able to write it. ;D
Actually, I'm not real happy with the current avatar myself ... gonna have to find a new one soon.

One of my criticisms of Human Touch and Lucky Town is the same one I made earlier of Young: he tried to put out too much stuff at one time, and it needed to be edited. Of course, the contemporary cuts on Tracks show that nothing that Bruce was doing at that time was really hitting on all cylinders. There's one good album that a person could cull out of all those tracks, though I've never been sussed to do it myself. I just listen to the live MTV 'Plugged set whenever I wanna hear those songs done right.

Man's Job actually kinda sucks.

Human Touch also has "I Wish I Were Blind" ... which is a sad enough love song to bring a tear to a grown man's eye. NP: a bunch of Bruce on shuffle ... currently it's Lost in the Flood (from the Live NYC set)

I admit I'd put The Boss over Neil too...just barely but still...
I did actually do a "Lucky Touch" track list once...only used a couple from Tracks but seeing as there's around forty songs from those sessions, the fifteen that made it still represent the lowest point of Bruce's career.
I'd only count the two title tracks, If I Should Fall Behind, Better Days, I Wish I Were Blind and maybe Living Proof in with the rest of his catalog in terms of quality.

Those are pretty much the same songs I'd list from those LPs, too.
See, we're not THAT different. ;D
