Thanks to DED, I've had my Neil Young memory refreshed ... and while Nelson is still my choice in this poll, if Neil has made a great album (something I still think is debatable) he did it on Tonight's the Night.
That said, Sleeps With Angels is the best thing he's done in the last twenty years that wasn't a collaboration with Pearl Jam. Death (and heroin addiction amongst his friends and peers) definitely brings out the best in Young's art.

Both are great though. You may be right. At some point I'll have to cue 'em up in sequence and make a decision. But that'll have to wait till I don't have like thirty other albums that I've never heard once sitting in the queue. (I have no idea how to spell that word -- you know, the one that sounds like "cue" -- and I'm too lazy to go spellcheck it now!).

Well, according to Firefox's built in spellcheck, queue is correct. I gotta say though, it felt weird typing it.

I gotta say, I'm kinda shocked to hear you've actually got some Neil Young albums. I'm listening to this right now, and I gotta say, I like it a lot more than the first couple of times I heard it. I've actually had it for years but never really gave it a chance. I think you might even like it Ken. It's kinda.. dare I say it... Pearl Jam-y?

On second thought, fuck Pearl Jam. They're not worthy of the comparison. Ragged Glory is better than anything those wankers have put out in ages.

Ragged Glory, Sleeps With Angels and Harvest Moon are better then Mirror Ball, Broken Arrow and Silver & Gold are at least as good.

All Neil Young is good. TRANS was good for a laugh, thats about it, but it was GOOD. Im not deaf--I know when things are off--but none of Neils stuff has been TRULY unlistenable (save ARC--which I like too) Im just happy to see Ken Holzman listening to some Neil Young. ALRIGHT.

Everybody's Rockin' is super crap. So is Are You Passionate. Everything else is at least pretty good.

Yeah, spot on as far as Ragged Glory, Sleeps With Angels and Harvest Moon are concerned. That whole run from Freedom through to Sleeps With Angels (including the live Weld album) was super. Always liked Mirrorball slightly more than either Broken Arrow or Silver and Gold but quality-wise I can't really disagree with the comparison there either. Speaking of live Neil, the recent Live at Massey Hall is fantastic.

I forgot about Ragged Glory ... ok, Sleeps With Angels is the best Neil Young album in the last 15 years that wasn't a collaboration with Pearl Jam. There, that's better.
