ken, you have any thoughts on the vaselines? No. But I think you'd like the Bacon Brothers if you ever gave 'em a fair hearing. Seriously.

The Vaselines were cool until they sold out. Once you become a big rock star there's no turning back.

No, The Vaselines for the second time now should not be on your list.
rockjism and Christianity and Christmas have nothing in common. Period.
Seriously, the only "rockists" I've ever known in the world are a couple of poofs in England and you. rockjism is nothing more than sniveling egotistical writer's masturbation and sub classifying everything in the world like some uber-out-of-touch-no-sense-of-humor-Richard-Dawkins-type.
Fuck rockjism.

Well sinc eyou've admitted to knowing only three rockists (one being me who you dont really even know) and I know hundreds, I respectfully think your opinion is totally misinformed, ill-concieved, out of date and quite frankly stereotypical. But let's say your definition of it was correct. So what? What is wrong with egoitistical masterbation and what is wrong with classifying things? Isnt classifying things an important part of how man survives? Percieving the universe around him and trying to make sense of it so he can better understand it and survive it better?

Fuck off PEW, you sanctimonius fuckwad. I have done plenty of research on the subject of "rockjism" and the only thing that I find with it is a circle jerk forum for racist/sexist uninformed self proclaimed geeks to get off on ruffling the feathers of fans of MUSIC. It is not stereotypical to be turned off by the small hallway of the small-minded in which you walk. Also, I doubt very seriously that when Man was first on this earth, he wasn't interested in classifying and was more concerned with SURVIVAL. Also, the audacity it takes to make the bullshit statement for shits and giggles that classifying music is the same as the struggles of man. Get bent, fuckface.

Also, I doubt very seriously that when Man was first on this earth, he wasn't interested in classifying and was more concerned with SURVIVAL. Wrong as usual. I cant imagine we woudl be here today if cavemen didnt classify things. Whether it be classifying which caves were good for shelter versus which ones were easy access for Bears, or whether it was classifying which berries were edible and which ones made you sick. Or classifying there which kind of tree made good wood for making weapons...and the examples go on. Nearly every aspect of our lives involves organizing the reality around us into classifications. With that said rockjism is not about classifications. However any intelligent rockist knows that classification is a process that exists in reality, and it exists for a reason. And that is to help us better understand our universe. So if classification can help you understand something about music better, then why is that a bad thing?

As usual........I don't think so you fucking mental midget. In fact, the track record goes around here that YOU have been schooled on just about every subject. Again, I can't believe that you have the audacity of taking classification and comparing life lessons with rockjism.
What you are: 1. Racist. 2. Sexist. 3. Liar. 4. Bad Writer. 5. Corporate Goon for Rupert Murdoch.
Shut. Up.

I don't suppose it would be a bad thing if you actually sounded as though you understood music better for it but you don't, you come off as someone who labels things because it makes you feel intellectually superior. It's a way for you to put things and others down. You sound like you're coving for your own insecurities rather looking for a real intellectual discussion about music.

rockjism doesn't fixate on classifications, but it's concerned about the difference between "rock" and "rock and roll?" And it leads to a better understanding of music, but its only practitioner has no idea who Carole King is?
All I can say is WTF? The cognitive dissonance here is too great. PEW, my advice to you is to stop writing about music and start listening to a lot more of it.
