hey that's classic shit, Roc - but I'm afraid Mayhem won't make my Top 10 - nor will Death. (Haven't gotten to much Death yet, as a matter of fact.)
~
I'll have to put up my 6 - 10 soon . . .

Man, I can't even think of what to put up on my 6-10. I don't even like my 1-5 anymore.....well, I really like those records but I feel like I should do a top 100 or something.
DEATH!!!!!!!

I'm throwing in my 2 cents.....it was underground....way underground at the time:

Underground metal is one of those things that I think is just killer. I loved the old tape trading of the days of yore.
Currently I'm into this new record by Saviours titled "Into Abaddon". I think it's a killer killer record with some really cool old school 80s thrash riffs mixed with NWOBHM. It's like Budgie and Exodus decided to have a baby with the singer from Bathory.

All right, I'm going to work on a huge list of what I think have been the most important underground metal albums of all time again. 1. Metallica "Kill 'Em All"Hollow's right on! This album is amazing and I know that as a kid getting into metal, this was the essential "evil" record that would get you into trouble with your parents. 2. Mercyful Fate "Melissa"One of the strongest debuts of a band and a sound ever. King Diamond's wails to the halls of hell and the chiming leads are incredible. 3. Morbid Angel "Altars of Madness"Death Metal is the new american folk music. This release is pummelling and the drums are sick. 4. Carcass "Heartwork"Adding groove and melody to the grind/death scene, I believe that this work is essential. 5. Emperor "In The Nightside Eclipes"A work of genius and in my opinion far exceeds the limitations that can be imposed in the Black Metal genre. ODIN!
