EAC does rip logs, Kool. Now, I have an EAC profilefor FLAC rips saved on my computer. Would you like it? As long as you have flac.exe saved inside of your EAC folder, the profile should work fine.

Thanks Ken, but I never want to deal with EAC again. That thing gave me a headache yesterday. I'll only be using CDex, which is much more user-friendly. I have no idea what these 'logs' and 'cues' are that are required with flac and I can't seem to get any help anywhere. Everyone over at oink is a smartass so I won't even bother asking for their help. I got no answers googling the matter either. I guess I'll just have to settle on uploading regular mp3's.

that jiggafelz eac guide is really easy and straightforward. if you follow his part about how to burn cds (be it in V0 or Flac or whatever) the cue/log part happens on it's own. jiggafellz.isa-geek.net/eac/#tracksthis is, of course, after you've set up EAC correctly.

I've had no problems ripping with EAC so far, after using those guides nDy just posted.

Yeah, I'll probably give that another shot on the weekend when I have the time (and patience) for it. Uploading large FLAC files seems to be the only way to really boost your ratio.

Yeah, it helped me out big time. You know you want to download the stuff I put up.

I finally figured out the flac/EAC stuff, and I've already uploaded a couple of albums. Within a few days I got almost 2GB of uploaded/seeded music. Uploading Flac files was a great idea. Thanks guys.

Now that I've finally got myself "clever" I'm getting my ratio taken care of the easy way ... I'm one of the few people seeding a nearly gigabyte file of Springsteen outtakes/demos. I've gone from 0.05 to almost 0.20 today alone. Once my ratio is over 0.25, then I'll start d/l'ding again.

Yeah, that's a smart idea snatching up a large file that hasn't been seeded much. I think I'm done with the uploading for now. Two people are leeching off me right now and that makes it really slow for them, since they're getting half my upload speed each.
My ratio is almost 2.0, but I've only downloaded 1 GB of stuff. I usually go for the harder to find stuff there or when I'm looking for a quality rip. Otherwise, I still use public torrent sites for the really easy to find and/or crappy music I want to check out.

Ken, I'd push for .50 before you download more. To be on the safe side. Try uploading a few FLACs.

I'm gonna be very busy this next week, so I don't think I'll be uploading much of anything. But I feel a whole lot better now that my ratio is up to .21 instead of .05.
It was all a matter of finding the right BT client and then getting "clever" ...

If you can leave your bittorrent client open overnight, do that. It's the only way you'll really boost your ratio. However, uploading flacs really is the best way to go, especially for us beginners. I haven't stopped seeding 3 days straight. If I had a faster outgoing connection, I'd be in ratio heaven. I did download a few albums over the weekend, I couldn't help myself. I think I'll make it a rule, seed on weekdays, download on weekends.

I've had my BT client running for the last few days now. That's how I was able to share 700 MB of that Springsteen file.
