Absolution was #11 on my all time list last time I made one. And I consider it the best album of the decade thus far. But I reckon Origin Of Symmetry is going to win around here.

I've got them both on my HD but I've yet to listen to them. I've only given my full attention to Black Holes. What can I say? I just discovered them last year. So I don't think it would be fair for me to vote just yet.

Nope, not until you give the best album of this decade a listen first.

Absolution, that is.

My favorite song on BHAR is "City Of Delusion".

But the 6th or 7th best song on Absolution is better than that.

Perhaps Muse wouldn't even exist without Radiohead's influence. They're still one of the best bands around today. If you ask me, OK Computer is the only Radiohead album better than Absolution. Have I raved about Absolution enough today?

I kid, Melon. I know Muse is not a Radiohead rip off band.

Our hopes and expectations. Black holes and revelations.

I love Absolution for the fact that it was technically brilliant & a little more restrained than the so-so Black Holes & Revelations ('do you like our pretentious cover art? mmm, pink floyd, sexy'). It wouldn't be so mediocre if they hadn't attempted for it to sound so big.
I have to go for Origin of Symmetry, it only slightly edges out Absolution.

I listened to OOS 3 or 4 times and it never really grabbed me. I'll try it out again.

Origin of Symmetry... partly just for the nostalgia vote, partly for "Bliss" and "Citizen Erased".
But Black Holes & Revelations pushes it close.

In fact, on most levels BH & R is easily their most accomplished and complete album. That was purely a nostalgia vote I just cast, thinking about it, since OOS tails off quite dramatically by the time we reach pap like "Darkshines".

My natural inclination would be the same as Layla - OOS by a hair over Absolution - but I'm pretty susceptible to arguments in favour of BH&R, too. That one doesn't have quite the 'wow' factor of the earlier discs (outside of yer odd "Knights of Cydonia") but it's more than held its own in terms of airtime. For me, at least.
