Hey Dwazee. I haven't seen The Fountain (and frankly wasn't much interested in it), but it's good to see you here. How's life been treating you?

oh man, you need to see it! as far as emotion, framing, etc--not to mention it's the prettiest movie ive ever seen--it's def worth a looksie. i've been super busy--didnt think anyone remembered me round here i graduated and now work for the uni in the housing office, am gearing towards grad school for 2008, have been doing documentary work with my photography, and all around trying to get a million things done at once. but now that i remember the boards, i have a suspicious feeling ive found a new thing to occupy me at work. hooray! how are you? anything exciting going on? like every other young adult, ive been on myspace and facebook, and i lost the link to the message boards...

Hey Dwazee. The Fountain was definitely my favorite movie from last year, beating out Pan's Labyrinth by a narrow margin. Maybe not so narrow. . . . cuz The Fountain was stunning in every way.

while i didnt really care for requiem for a dream i loved pi and the fountain is just...incredible. if i ever wanted to make a movie, it would be like that.
does anyone have the soundtrack either? mogwai and clint mansell (whose other scores i also heart) did a fab job.
thorns, did you see the special features on the dvd? i really liked how they had the beginning of the movie focused on darkness, and as izzie and tommy realised that death was inevitable/necessary, it moved into light. i wish i hadnt seen how everything was made tho, since the movie itself looked so otherworldly, and when i saw how it was made, it really brought it down to a smaller scale.

oh yeah I bought the soundtrack for sisy last Christmas. It's beautiful.
I haven't watched the dvd yet, Dwazee. But I did see the movie in theaters twice. Loved it even more the 2nd time. An incredibly moving film . . . I mean, I was moved to tears both times.

i get teary pretty much every time i watch it. like lost in translation, eternal sunshine, and some others, i like to watch this one alot. the dvd is pretty sparse as far as features are concerned, since i think maybe criterion might pick it up, but its nice to have it. i saw it twice in theaters too. i will say watching it on my tv kinda diminishes the experience only because i have a tiny screen. and its one of those movies to get immersed in. i felt that way about sunshine too. what i love about multiple viewings is you can see just how planned out and detailed the film is--how little things factor in design wise later on, how there are overall themes that are replayed...the scope is just amazing. sigh.
