Man, I want to see a definitive Holzman list of rock bands he hates - I think that would be kinda funny. I wonder who'd get top honors? Doors, Led Zeppelin, Rush, Pink Floyd??? Got a top ten bands you love to hate Holz? Hmm ... I'll have to put this up at Random Top Ten in the not too distant future. Should be a fun list. ;D hmmmm,,,,,I'm putting odds on Billy Joel being on the top of the heap........ |

You guys forgot the Smiths. He does have a point with the Doors and Pink Floyd though. I'll give him that much.  |

I thought that went without saying. Actually, this thread has been pretty insightful, since it gave me an idea of just how far-reaching Led Zep's influence is. I mean, some of the stuff that were brought up are obvious, like the Smiths, Mozart, and Bush, but I wouldn't have seen the similarities with bands like Kraftwerk or Wham! if it weren't for this thread. Though yeah, I feel like an idiot now for not noticing it before. |

Celine Dion's debut owes a lot to Zeppelin's acoustic third album. She and Plant have a similar wail too. At times, I just picture him on the ship instead, with the wind in his hair, belting out "My Heart Will Go On". I'd buy that single in a heartbeat.
