So are we considering Foo Fighters from VA? If so, I think they should get the spot. If not them, I reckon it would have to be Dave Mathews, but I hate that band so I'd much rather see the Foos take VA.

Good topic Ryo! Well, I kinda split S. Carolina and Virginia as my home states....From SC, there's not a whole lot. The only two I can think of are Hootie and Edwin McCain. I'd vote for the latter. From VA, I think DMB is from these parts, not sure though. Missy Elliot and Timberland spend time in VA Beach, and there's Virginia Coalition. I'm not big on any of these act though. Oh, Dave Grohl is from Alexandria, VA, so I guess you can put the Foo Fighters in the VA slot. From California I'd say Comets On Fire Oregon = Sleater Kinney Washington = Pearl Jam New York = Beastie Boys Alabama = Drive By Truckers Florida = Creed (sike) Georgia = REM Mass = Mission of Burma Illinois - Wilco (Neko Case doesn't even come close Rocky :-p ) Texas = Mars Volta Michigan = White Stripes That's all I've got for now...I'll post more later. Creed broke up a couple of years ago. You must have missed the celebration. Oh no, I led the celebration! I fucking hate Creed. Actually, they may be my most hated rock band ever. I mean, they did absolutely nothing for rock, yet were huge. God, I got so pissed off when they were big. No other band has ever made me feel such hatred. I now respect the guitarist though....in some interview I read he said he's not interested in a reunion, and that he's embarrassed that he help make those shitty songs. That kinda made me like him a little bit. |

Slipknot might have to win Iowa by default. I don't think I can name another band that has ever come from Iowa.
And yeah, Sleater-Kinney is no more. So I guess they're disqualified. So Oregon goes to...Everclear? There's got to be someone more relevent than that.

I guess Hawaii has to go to Jack Johnson, but I'd like to point out that Shannon Sossamon is also Hawaiian and while I've never heard her sing she's hot enough we should consider giving it to her anyway.
