Well, Weeping and Luke: how are the new Star Wars dvds? The original versions may not be as spruced up as they should be but are you satisfied?
I'm still holding on to my bootlegs. Both this new release and the bootlegs are direct ports from the Definitive Edition laserdisc transfers so I don't see why I should plunk down $60.
That 2007 30th Anniversary box set better be something.

I'll try to get into at least one of them this weekend, but I have a couple Netflix movies to watch plus the Seven Samurai box set to begin to explore.

Adam, I've gotten through the first 2 Star Wars films. Star Wars is noticably not remastered inch by inch as the SE DVD print was, but Empire looks darn good and I'm guessing ROTJ maybe will be a little better. Worth the money? Depends on how bad you want them, but one has to guess we'll be getting these versions again next year fully remastered for the 30th Anniversary. Money grab? Probably, but it's not like one doesn't know what they are getting and what possibly could be out next year.

Well, there's no way to know until its too late, I suppose. They'll wait until these releases are out of print and later on, they'll disclose the details.
I need to read some recent reviews but I remember how some reviews of the SE dvds complained about some transfer problems (most specifically the audio track) and I wonder if these problems have been corrected.

The New World is incredible, but I heard there's a director's cut release on the way.

I've also read rumours that Malik is overseeing a 3+ hour cut. I hope it works out.
