I was just wondering how the greatest rock band ever would stand here.

Yeah, I mean, what is this, if not a device by which to entrap blasphemers?
Question is Melaun: Once you snag a couple of em, what are we gunna do with em?

I don't particularly like Led Zeppelin, but I see no reason to declare that they suck.

I think we should put them in the comfy chair, lash them with raw spagetti, and force them to listen to Wham!

Of course Zeppelin does NOT suck. Anyone ever hear "When The Levee Breaks"? That song alone pulls them out of "suckdom". And I could have said that about a number of their songs, though I tend to prefer mid-period Zep (IV, Houses Of The Holy). Physical Grafitti is over-rated, while Presence is under-rated ("Achille's Last Stand" and "Nobody's Fault But Mine" are primo Led Zeppelin cuts).
All, of course, IMO. Yahoo. Tootsie Roll. Uzi Rock and Rollers.

Led Zep 1 - good album, very few poor tracks. Led Zep II - terrible overcooked, and underbrewed mishmash. Led Zep III - an improvement over II. though it's cloying in places. ugh. Led Zep 4 - wafer thin, but some really good riffs abound. Houses of The Holy - nice riffs. colourful. pretentious. Physical Graffitti - great album. period. Presence - who let this piece of crap get committed to vinyl? In Through The Out Door - kaleideoscopic nonsense.

I'm not sure I'd say that they suck since there is obvious talent involved there, but I would say that I don't ever need to hear another note by 'em.

Of course Fred Zeppelin suck. Everyone knows that. You guys just keep posting contrary opinions solely to piss me off.
Actually, if Jimmy Page hadn't been such a hopeless wanker, and if Robert Plant could've written some lyrics that weren't half-baked blues reworkings or fantasy crap, well, they might've been alright. But as it is, well, the best I can say is that they had a pretty decent riddim section.
The only even slightly redemptive quality about LZ is the fact that they inspired punk by showing how NOT to be a great rock band, and inspired Jack White to kick much guitar ass with the White Stripes. Oh yeah, they gave Cameron Crowe a pretty cool big break into Rolling Stone back when that magazine didn't suck. Other than that, LZ completely and totally suck.
And if I never hear "Stairway to Heaven" again, my life will be just a little brighter.

Mmmm, I have to disagree with Ken, but I know we were all expecting that. That was actually pretty mild!
Really, Page was not only an exceptional guitar player, but had quite the musical mind too. The only weak link was Plant, and back in the day, he was OK.
They have suffered from classic rock overplay, and being played at all the wrong times for the wrong reasons in the wrong places, and made parody of too much. I have ear-fatigue for a lot of it now too, but it wasn't always that way. Actually, there's a station here that does a Zep show every so often on weekends and I caught some the other day. Stuff I hadn't heard in a while, and it really sounded good again.
I do miss playing Good Times Bad Times live.

This thread topic/question is what is commonly referred to in the Modern-Castaways era as 'PEW-bait'. Coming from Melaun of all people? Dude, are you a masochist? I'm not voting in protest. oh, btw Ken, I didn't read any of that.

Holzman, how much hard rock/heavy metal do you listen to? I personally don't listen to it at all, which is why I would never declare that Led Zeppelin suck.
