Now there's two bands not known for their variety. I still believe if you have any one RATM album and any one QOTSA album (except maybe the slightly quirkier Rated R) then you have all the bases covered.
Having said that, I've seen neither act live and I'd bet my egg and cress sandwich they put on a hell of a show.

That's figurative egg and cress.
My last sandwich had in it butter, a very sharp cheddar, some creamy garlic and herb cheese, peppercorn salami, some thinly sliced chorizo, baby spinach and coleslaw. It was rather scrummy.

i dont care either way....the only midwest date tthat rage is playing and its half an hour away from me......qotsa has been one of my favorite bands for years, as has rage, and the thought of them playing together....for a one off show....in wisconsin of all places.....it just amazes me.
by the way...new qotsa album today.

oh man. . . what's the official story w/RATM ? I figure they must be back together, officially, and will release another studio album, and tour. CAn someone point me to confirmation of this ? |

I think the word for right now is that they are going to play a couple of shows and then that's it. Zach apparently won't commit beyond that.

alpine valley is just as near to chicago as it is to milwaukee.....and its a huge outdoor venue, rage played there for one of the tibetan freedom concerts. probably why they picked it for this.
one of my friends runs the parking lot there.....im gonna have to get him to hook me up somehow.

I have seen some great shows there, but I do NOT like Alpine in the least...
For one, it is the place where Stevie Ray Vaughan played his last show with Clapton and Buddy Guy...took the chopper because it would have taken them at least an hour and a ½ to get out of the fucking parking lots.
FWIW, I saw SRV play a show there the year before he died.
