Marie Stopes International, which is hosting the event with HIV/AIDS charity the Terrence Higgins Trust, said it expected up to 200 people to attend the sponsored masturbation session in Clerkenwell, central London, on Saturday.
"It is a bit of a publicity stunt but we hope it will raise awareness," a Marie Stopes spokeswoman told Reuters.

all 'witty' name puns aside (Britney Shears, Baldney Spears...they kill me...gold), ever get the feeling this girl is going to die young? Public breakdowns are spectacular. As long as they're not happening to me. And really, kudos to Britney for being original about it. "DUI - been done. OD on methadone? Yawn. Sex tape? Enough already! Shaving my head to look like a strung-out meth-head? Yes!"

She should've stopped halfway through & kept the "I listen to punk rock & chainsmoke rollies & start fights in cheap bars with strippers" look, it actually suits her: You know, the whole no hair thing is actually really ingenious. Never again does Britney need her best girlfriends to hold her hair back when she vomits. What a day for alcholic twentysomething girls everywhere!

Cheney Warns Against Hasty Pullout before Middle East orgasmBy Tim RAMM, Associated Press Writer 2 hours ago WASHINGTON - A quick withdrawal of U.S. forces from Iraq could allow victorious Muslim extremists to fan out into other countries and would frustrate the deep thrusting and repeated grunting repetitive ramming need for full military release, Vice President Dick Cheney says. The vice president, just back from a trip that included unannounced stops in Afghanistan and Pakistan, addressed a conservative conference Thursday night where he sharply criticized efforts by some Democrats to restrict funds for President Bush's troop buildup in Iraq or to place restrictions on their deployment. "If we have to pull out too soon, we won't be able to come...to a resolution. Like jetting oil derricks, our resolution must spurt unstoppably over the face of the Iraqi nation." -------------- taken from the johnshirley message board----------- members4.boardhost.com/JohnShirley/msg/1172823426.html

Firefighter, son charged after fight hits the InternetVANCOUVER -- Two men have been charged after a video of a brawl between Vancouver police and an off-duty firefighter and his son hit the Internet. Police say firefighter Curtis Mason, 44, and his 20-year-old son Grant are charged with assaulting a police officer and obstruction. The video posted on the popular YouTube website shows several other firefighters in full gear standing around watching the officers battle the two men. Const. Howard Chow says police have certain expectations of other emergency personnel at such calls but those expectations were not met. But Capt. Rob Jones-Cook of the Vancouver fire department says police and firefighters usually work well together, and it's not clear if the firefighters at the scene were told not to intervene. The fight broke out as police investigated the crash of an SUV in downtown Vancouver on Saturday night. The Masons are scheduled to appear in court on March 29 Yeah I searched You Tube, can't find it

Just read the Dutch paper De Telegraaf who reports on the plight of hundreds of Canadian seal hunters who are stuck in the ice off the northeast Canadian shores...authorities say they cannot reach the boats who have travelled back from their hunt, got stuck and now face starvation and damaged boats which could sink.
The response of readers on that report has been overwhelmingly in favour of 'letting those bastards freeze to death as painful as possible', 'let the seals club 'em to death' and 'good riddance'.

Eastern suburbs cat high on cocaine September 1, 2007 - 6:49AM
A cat in Sydney's eastern suburbs was taken to a vet high on cocaine and benzodiazepines.
The eight-month-old Himalayan cat arrived at the Double Bay clinic on Monday morning with dilated pupils and a racing heart after being accidentally locked in a cupboard overnight, Fairfax newspapers reported.
It was having trouble walking, was easily startled, paced incessantly and was too anxious to have a thermometer inserted into its rectum, said a report in this month's edition of Journal of Feline Medicine and Surgery.
The owner was adamant the cat had not been exposed to drugs, mouldy food or toxic plants.
But when the vet phoned the owner's wife, she admitted the cat could have licked "plates of cocaine" which had been served at a dinner party two days earlier.
A drug screen also revealed benzodiazepines in the cat's system.
The owner was counselled and allowed to take the cat home as there is no legal requirement for vets to report such cases to the police.

We once had a Labrador pup who, while we were away cross-country skiing helped himself to a "few" grams of hashish we had left on the table ...
We knew something was wrong when he sat motionless for more than an hour with a plastic pail on his head ... !!
