Why Pissin, that’s the nicest thing I have been called all day. You flirtin’ with me? Are you a banker as well, because that's also much nicer than anything anyone's called me today.

7 fucks on here actually picked Bush? That's horrible. I deeply appreciate the obnoxious level of conceit and the utter condescension displayed in the choice of words you've used to categorize those of us who will be voting for Bush this November. [glow=red,2,300]<sarcasm>[/glow]Certainly makes me want to reconsider my stance...after all, it's much better to call someone a "fuck" than to actually be one, right? It's nice to know that Kerry supporters are so civilized. [glow=red,2,300]</sarcasm>[/glow]

The real fucks are the ones who have their Bush bumper stickers right next to their "Free Courtney" stickers. What the hell is that all about?

LMAO! Don’t forget my “Stop Wal*Mart”, The Presidential Prayer Team decal, the “Hole” bumper sticker and the two signs that indicate my love for my Mutt and Shar Pei. (I am total white trash, hear me roar!)

Yeah, I noticed that about the higher income levels, but I decided to show Strat some mercy.I checked out the WSJ summary of the Zogby polling Drum. While certainly something to keep in mind, it's been my experience the the Zogby poll is one of the most volitale. I'd be dishonest if I said that I didn't look at the various polls, but they honestly don't mean much to me in that they are simply snapshots in time, and can change drastically. Stratman, I honestly don’t know what Zogby’s reputation is in relation to Gallup, Rasmussen, et al. There’s a political program that I watch a lot on CBC Newsworld, though, called Politics whose host – an old hand at this stuff who’s been around long enough to have covered Watergate (and a conservative old Westerner, BTW) – swears by it for American political coverage. But I’d agree with you that polls are just snapshots and that none of them are the 'last word', as it were.

Regarding the Zogby poll, I can't vouch for it's reputation/accuracy either. To the best of my knowledge, it's a relatively new poll, although I may be wrong on that. It does get cited here though, along with the other polls. If you looked at that link I posted, you'll see in several states where Zogby was quite different from other polls, especially as regards the so-called "battleground states". I have a satellite dish and the hockey package, so I get CBC for hockey, and I also get NWI (News World International) which carries a CBC news broadcast, although I don't watch that channel enough to figure out when the CBC broadcast will be. Where I used to live, with a good antenna, I could pull in CBC off the air from Windsor. I liked watching it, to get a different perspective, and I miss it (liberal tho' it may be ). But yes, as regards polls, they're snapshots in time, open to drastic swings. Useful as yardsticks perhaps, but hardly the final word.

The CBC may be liberal, stratman, (although I would say their actual bias is upholding the status quo more than anything else) but there isn't another network around that is even close to being as anal about "balance".

I'm sorry. I will now deeply display an obnoxious level of regret and concern directed towards those individuals that I have wrongfully categorized as being fucks just because they voted for a hillbilly. I realize now that this was not a very civilized thing to do, and in the long run it is not going to change anyone's stance on who they decide to vote for in the November election. Again I sincerely apologize for using the word fuck. Maybe I should have said confused, misled, blind, gullible, ect. It's just that the first word that came to my mind was "fucks". I do not want this stance to be taken as the stance of all Kerry supporters. For I am just one man. From now on this non Bush supporter promises to be much more civilized. Now where did I put my Grey Poupon?

One of the problems with allowing a newssource to declare the reliability of any of the polling organizations (and part of the reason why we need so many of them) is that each news organization typically has one polling organization that they subscribe to / partner with. So obviously each is going to declare that whoever they ahve a contract with is the most reliable. That's why I prefer sites like realpolitics that show all the polls. When you have them all side by side, you can look at things like polling dates, who was polled (registered voters vs likely voters, etc) and average out all the numbers to get a clearer snapshot. Of course, the polls were telling us in 2000 that Gore would win the election but Bush would win the popular vote. So why are we still looking at them?
