[glow=red,2,300]You're walking down a deserted street with your wife and two small children. Suddenly, a dangerous looking man with a huge knife comes around the corner, locks eyes with you, screams obscenities, raises the knife, and charges. You are carrying a Glock .40, and you are an expert shot. You have mere seconds before he reaches you and your family. What do you do? [/glow]
I am going to answer before reading the answers you listed, mm'k?
I would gently yet firmly pull the trigger and put a neat hole in his forehead before he even completed one step.
So what does that make me, 'Tasia -?

The really funny part is that is the republican solution for poverty, minorities, homosexuals, foreign policies, liberals, people who talk too loud, people who give the wrong answers when politics comes up, liberals...

Ya know that argument of Republicans not caring about the poor is getting old. They are after all who created the EIC and the Child tax credit.

Thorny...that's a funny looking clown in that picture you posted! What's his name and does he do children's parties?
Pissin writes: I said I have no idea where it comes from. It could come from god. If he exists.None of us know, and won't unless he comes down and reveals himself. That's why I think it's a waste of time to worship something that is so uncertain and only a feeling, or belief, instead of focusing on what we actually do have in front of us, things we are certain of, and dealing with those.
Okay, I'll say this and then I'll try and curtail the religious talk from my corner. I only wanted to say that you have a very valid point that none of us could know that the moral law is from "God" unless He were to "come down and reveal himself". And you are right...I even agree that for the most part that religion, since it is more often than not MAN attempting to reach GOD, just doesn't seem like a profitable venture...after all, how can puny man ever expect to reach an infinite deity by his own devices? But the Christian faith, in it's purest form, teaches that God did exactly what you say you wanted Him to do. He came down to us and revealed Himself...in the person of Jesus Christ, the Messiah prophecied of in the Old Testament. The incarnation of Christ into a physical body, His teachings, miracles and His death and resurrection were all part of a grand plan designed by the Creator from the beginning of time to reconcile His fallen creation with Him. I won't go into details here (though I'd be glad to discuss it with you in some other forum, should you desire to do so), but that's what I believe, and that's what the Bible teaches...I have faith that it is so. I don't know if you've ever attempted an open-minded study of the Bible, but if you haven't I think you would benefit greatly from it, even if you eventually decide to reject it. You were probably being flippant when you wrote "I need to be ready" (and if so, forgive me for taking you seriously), but if not please take just this one bit of advice from me and then I'll let it be. Look into it. Don't dismiss it for whatever reasons you may have to do so...no doubt many are valid reasons. But if possible, try and go into it without any preconceptions or biases. You might be very surprised by what you find.
Then again...maybe not. It's not as if God "needs" any of us... It doesn't affect Him one way or the other whether we believe or not, but He loves us and desires that we enter into communion with Him... But it's always been your call...
Okay...now that I've said my piece I'll make a valiant attempt to reserve any future discussion about this topic to the Religion and Spirituality board (barring a return to the sabbatical I was enjoying).

They also forgot to add the reality answer in which you shoot yourself in the leg trying to unholster your gun the robber takes it and shoots you instead of stabbing you, shoots your family in the back as they try to flee and uses your gun to hold up gas stations for the next week.
