Since Bullinger wrote a century or so ago, I'd like to see what you can show from more modern scholars. You've repeatedly stated that there are all these things going on right now that are dramatically different than conventional wisdom. But here you're relying on commentary that was old when my parents were born?
I'm having such extreme cognitive disonance at this point that I my head is spinning ...

I'm beginning to think this is some sort of extremely advanced form of trolling.

ken, you don't think modern scholars use Bullinger's work? Thats pretty funny. Are you saying his work isn't relevant because it was written so long ago? Then the KJV of the Bible isn't relevant either for the study of Theology because it was published in 1611? How about the Torah or the Talmud? The Mesorah? The Dead Sea Scrolls? The Assyrian Tablets? The ancient Egyptian Hieroglyphics Then would that mean that the work of any other field of study that was written awhile back is no longer of use? Say Newton, Einstein?

Ken ~ For the longuest time, scientists tried very hard to make coincide their discoveries with the biblical narration ...
It had to be that their researchs had to corroborate the historical veracity of the Scriptures ...
Today, the scientific process works in reverse : They start with what they can find to elaborate some theories ...
So far, they have found no traces of Abraham's peregrinations, nor the Hebrews' wandering in the Sinaï desert, nor any of Joshua's battles and the Canaan conquest ...
Not to mention the Garden of Eden ... The world's flood and Noé's arch ...
Etc ... Etc ... Etc ...

HÉ ! LEAVE DARWIN OUT OF THIS !! He's a charlatan ...
"Evolution is impossible" ... Remember ??
Then would that mean that the work of any other field of study that was written awhile back is no longer of use? Say Newton, Einstein?
Tudeda ~ Remember what we said about the definition of a theory ...
a well-substantiated explanation of some aspect of the natural world; an organized system of accepted knowledge that applies in a variety of circumstances to explain a specific set of phenomena ...
No ! I didn't think so !!

Phil to call Bullinger's work not relevant for the study of Theology because it was written too long ago is preposterous. That is like saying reading Luther or Calvin is not relevant for the study of Theology, or that reading Plato and Aristotle is not relevant when studying Greek Philosophy.

Thats right and the date of the 15th day of Nissan varies from year to year because of the lunar cycle. Oh my fucking god. fwiw, it was at precisely this moment in reading this thread that I totally lost it and burst out laughing and didn't stop for about 5 straight minutes - much to the bewilderment of my roommate! I love this thread!!!!! Please, please continue!!!!

I love this thread!!!!! Please, please continue!!!! Phew, I at least feel some redemption now. At that point in our "debate"/"conversation"/whatever the hell that all was, I felt like I'd killed a couple brain cells and had driven myself absolutely crazy for no reason. Earlier in the day I was disappointed we weren't able to entertain Mary more while she was hard at work. At least now I know that this thread did the purpose at some point in the night, so it wasn't for naught. My only disappointment now is in myself, as I know perfectly well that tomorrow I'm going to allow myself to be dragged back into this circus, despite the fact that, no matter how factual my evidence is, no matter how much Tuatha's citations agree 100% with everything I say, somehow she's still going to tell me I'm wrong. Good lord. I don't even know what's happening here anymore.

'Debating' with HMF (...I use that term very loosely, because I don't think a word exists for the conversations that result whenever she is online....maybe "fucking laugh riot" will suffice?) - its like crack. Super addictive, even though you know its bad for you. Crack without the financial strain.

Fifty bucks says HMF will make a dig about me being on crack.
Am taking bets for the next hour. Good odds.
