It starts today, for all intents, with the swearing in. We can all hope it will be short if not sweet, eh rockkid?

At least (from reports anyway) it looks like Stock won’t be getting Foreign Affairs. Thank the gods for small mercies, etc. etc.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see Peter MacKay get that one, actually – the same thing Mulroney did with Joe Clark.

LOL, rockkid. It’ll be very interesting to see whether this one takes on a life beyond the blogs and open line shows. Harper is clearly betting that after some venting, that’s the end of it, but I’m not so sure of that.

Ruthlessly brilliant tactical move on Harper's part but such a complete betrayal of democratic principle – not to mention the populist ideals of the Reform wing of his party – so soon after an election. Don’t know if a cartoonist could play off the image of a metastizing tumour but I’m wondering, if Emerson isn’t forced to resign, if the ultimate effect of this on the Cons won’t be something along those lines.
