It wasn't much of a zoo anymore though !!
It had been in need of a major overhauling
for more than a quarter century now
but when they finaly did something about it,
they put birds in place of exotic animals ...
People are screaming against the closing
but too few went to visit when it was operating normaly ...
The polar bear was surely schizophrenic
and I suspect the tigers were on Prozac !!
Our own school board has a plan to open an horticultural school there
and they will make a flower park with the rest ...
The Zoo is a superb piece of real estate
many promoters are salivating over ...

Looks like Junior is going ahead with mandatory passports
for Canadians wanting to go to the U.S. after January 2007 ...
Guess what ... ! I'll renew my passport only if I go to Europe ...

We should just give all you Canadians dual-citizenship with us here in the States, and charge you a $25 annual "border-crossing fee" or some such shit. You guys are like our cousins anyway ... our paler, colder, cousins with funny accents, eh.

Yeah but if we become half American on paper, then logically it would follow that we would start getting treated like shit when we go to Europe as well, with our new found American co-identity. Who would pretend to be Canadian then? Maple leaf patches and flag sales for Americans travelling abroad would all but dry up.  |

I can only shudder at what might transpire now in my fair province.
Back to the Zoo.
I read yesterday that a few years back one of the politicians turned down a 18 million fed grant for the Zoo stating & I quote “ I don’t want to fly that red rag (in reference to the Maple Leaf) over/near the Zoo".
True?
If so I hope that his constituents who did frequent the Zoo give him thanks by voting him out!
