But pew, I've tried to answer your question, but I still disagree with your premise and you never addressed that. Are you assumign that it's impossible to be an "independent" thinker if your positions line up across the board with standard positions of the left or right? Please explain. I wouldnt say its an absolute, but it's definately a possibility and even rather likely. I've see way too many knee-jerk reactions from liberals which have totally turned me off from them. I've seen way too many instances where they adhere to what I call the Liberal "party line" without actually going over the issues in any open-minded way. Then there are also those who DO research the oppositions argument, but do so with their minds already dead set against it and only researching the argument so they can outmanuver their right wing counterparts in the ridiculas game of Gotcha politics they play--a game whose main purpose is to Ego-boost oneself or as a release for one's Hatred. For instance, you listed a number of RightWingers who you have researched. But if you went into the research with your mind already made up on the issues, then is that really being open-minded? In otherwords if there was a Zero percent chance that any of these folk's ideas were going to change your own stance, then you are not really being totally open-minded.

Well, I have come to the conclusion that there is no proof for the existence of the soul... only faith. *wump*, here it is. Couldn't've said it better. I think we can all agree on this ('cept for "you-know-who" .

Exactly. I find it awesome that a drunken Matheus is 1000% more intelligible than a completely sober pauledwardwagemann. Anyone told you lately that you rock Matheus? Well you do

" To kill, you must know your enemy, and in this case my enemy is a varmint. And a varmint will never quit - ever. They're like the Viet Cong - Varmint Cong. So you have to fall back on superior intelligence and superior firepower. And that's all she wrote. "

liberal, and conservative are adjectives that humans use to better describe things and help put them in context...you could say 'big' is alabrl too--depends on your intent and motivation...I highly doubt that I was the first person on this thread to use the terms liberal or coservative...and whether you regard them as labels or adjectives probablly has more to do with whether you have a negative outlook or a positve one...

Well you do Since I have a massive ego, I'm not going to try any false humility here... everybody, everybody, everybody, everybody, everybody, everybody, everybody, everybody, everybody, everybody, EVERYBODY, EVERYBODY, EVERYBODY, EVERYBODY, EVERYBODY, EVERYBODY, EVERYBODY, EVERYBODY, EVERYBODY, EVERYBODY... listen up... Thorn is superb. Yes, I was thinking of Lucas in Empire Records. SUPERB.
