The Yankees suck. They suck the biggest of big ones. Damn Bronx bastards.
Real men hate the Yankees. Only a little green insect would cheer for those whiners.
I hate the friggin' Yankees.

To be completely honest I hate baseball. Jerry Seinfield pretty much sumed up how I feel..."Teams change every year...new players, a new coach...you're not rooting for a team, you're rooting for a uniform" You're rooting for the picture of the little man on the hat. I just don't get sports fanatics.

Fuck the Yankees.
For the record, Seinfeld said that as a huge Mets fan. He's as guilty of rooting for the uniform as anyone else. So fuck the Yankees and fuck Jerry Seinfeld (and fuck the Mets by association).

That's the other reason I don't like sports...everyone takes it so seriously. People get seriously pissed off over stuff like that (I'm not saying Rocky's seriously pissed off), I've seen people start fights because someone siad their team sucked...there are riots when your team wins with soccer. WTF?

My post was meant to be funny. I'm not pissed. I think that sports fandom is usually more about rooting for your city than rooting for a uniform. But yeah, it totally brings out the worst in a lot of people. I mean, some people start fights about sports without even being drunk. That's just ridiculous.
By the way, the Jazz hands thing is still making me laugh.

Alabama football fans are the worst. My dream season would be for Alabama and Auburn to lose every game.

Sports bring out also a lot of good in people.

That's true. When the Pistons won the NBA championship in '04, the Detroit area seemed more united than it had felt in my lifetime. Well, briefly anyway.

Sports bring out also a lot of good in people. Yeah, I know. When people allow themselves and others to enjoy the game it's cool. The people who don't though... the superfans, the parents, stupid fights...it all just turns me off on all of it. Oddly enough the only sport I enjoy is Boxing. I used to collect basketball cards and I enjoyed that far more then ever actually watching a game. I dunno, just not my thing I guess.

I'm not much different with sports...I enjoy boxing, MMA, pretty much any fighting sport, stuff like track and tennis...I just can't get into team sports at all.

Big salaries plus even larger egos make for weak team spirit ... !!
Professional athletes are all mercenaries now and team owners and agents are brothel owners and pimps ...

But still I rather spend dough on a ticket to see these high-priced over-egoed maniacs play their sport than spend it on drugs or hookers.
Man, I wish I could have been at the Richmond-Essendon-game last night. That was some entertainment!
That's the point about sport. Like TV and music, it's mass entertainment.
Politicians have super inflated egos and salaries too (mainly due to rorts and whatever), they are the true mercenaries and pimps. We can also extend the analogy to the Catholic Church, the police, the music industry, TV....
In short, the whole world is a pimpin' place!
