Where were the reasons laid out? Were they on the board that you deleted before you deleted it? Because, as far as I know, this is the very first time you've actually posted on the subject.
Anyway, I think my point about how good moderating in the past does not excuse bad moderating in the present was pretty valid. Thanks for ignoring it.

Rocky - as I said, the accusations of bad moderating were being made before the board was deleted. So to point to the board being deleted as justification for the insults really doesn't work.

The board that was all about saying nice things about people?
I could understand deleting those offensive posts, if you wanted to be extremely heavy handed in your moderating, but the vast, vast majority of the posts on that board were saying nice things about people, or making little jokes that were not at the expense of anyone. Deleting the whole board seemed pretty excessive, especially since even the most insulting post on that board was way nicer than some of the insults that you yourself have participated in on the CE board (and no, I'm certainly not saying you're the only one who participates in that, but you know, so long as we're talking about having some perspective). Why doesn't the CE board get deleted every time someone makes a single offensive post? Seems awfully hypocritical to me.
Yeah, of course you're free to respond to insults. That's the whole idea of an open forum. Deleting a thread isn't a response though.

The issue with that board was the name of it. I tried just changing it, but Kenny wasn't okay with that - he had to keep on playing with it. It was impossible to deal with the title without it effecting the entire board.

And there was no way to deal with the name of the board without deleting it?
My understanding of what happened is this:
-Chrisfan objected to her name being in the title of the thread
-Kenny changed it to something ridiculous that did not have Chrisfan's name in the title
Correct me if I'm wrong about that, but if that's what happened, then I would think that you could reach some sort agreement as to how to deal with the name of the board without deleting the whole friggin' thing, especially since Kenny did in fact honor your request to remove your name from it.

Rocky, exactly what, based on past behavior of Kenny, DED, Shin, and in many ways you should have led me to believe that some sort of reasonable negotiation would have ever happened? When you guys are so convinced in times that I do NOTHING that I'm the greatest villian to ever dare to come around here, exactly WHAT should make me think there's any hope of reasoning or negotiating with you? You're acting here as if everyone around here is all wine and roses, kind and picking daisies together, and then Chrisfan, the big bad bitch comes along. I know you've had some issues with Ken and Shin before, but this is the very first time in all of the years of the RS boards and the Castaways that I've ever heard a single person complain about DED. Sounds like guilt by association to me. And what about all of the posts by people other than Ken, Shin, DED or myself on that board?
And you're completely misconstruing what I said. I never said everything was all wine and roses, I just said that there was nothing on that board that justified deleting it. There's a huge gap in between those two things, isn't there?
Anyway, you've made it pretty clear now that it was in fact the people posting on the board and not the actual posts that offended you. Your last post pretty much states it directly. So I'm not sure what else to say about it.
Please note, though, that none of my posts here in this discussion contained any insults, just a few jokes before you showed up and just some firmly worded questions about the way you've handled moderating the boards since you decided to grace us with your presence here. If you want to take that personally, then there's nothing I can do about it, but so long as you're going to lecture other people on having perspective, well, maybe you could stand to look in the mirror.
And as for your opinion of me, well...as I've stated the last several times you decided to tell me that you don't like me, I don't care. I used to care, and I used to go to great lengths to not offend you. But once you decided that I was offensive to you, then everything I said became offensive to you, and so it became pointless for me to give a damn. That's completely beside the point here though, because in this instance I'm seriously just questioning your reasoning for deleting the board, and I would question it just the same if it was a different moderator who did it. It's not you I'm questioning here, it's one specific action that you took.
