Mmm, just a few facts to clear up...
There are 30 recorded deaths of stingray-attacks of which approximately 12 have been in Australia. It's quite uncommon. Irwin most likely was killed because of the sting he took was near his heart and not only because of the poison- a combination of both looks to be the cause of death. Irwin was recording near Batt Reef near the beautiful city of Port Douglas for his daughter Bindi's new TV-series about animals- his wife Terri, who was incidentally contacted the afternoon of his death, was shooting in a remote area of Tasmania, Australia (not Africa).
The cameraman that followed Irwin during the shoot says he didn't see anything happening but a sudden bit of blood in the water confirmed something was wrong. Chances are that his footage won't show much. Sorry 'Youtube-fans'.

Bummer about Irwin. Anyway, on a much funnier note...
Paris Hilton falls victim to 'guerilla artist' Banksy defaces the socialite's debut album sleeve
Hundreds of copies of socialite Paris Hilton's debut album have become a victim of "guerrilla artist" Banksy after he made less than flattering alterations to the star's debut album artwork and deposited them into record shops around the UK.
Banksy, who designed the sleeve for Blur's 2003 album 'Think Tank', changed the artwork by superimposing a dog's head on top of Hilton's topless body. He also attached a sticker on the cover, claiming the LP contained the songs 'Why Am I Famous?', 'What Have I Done?' And 'What Am I For?'.
Banksy also replaced the CD inside with music from an artist only known as DM, and left the original barcode attached so people could buy the CD without realising it had been interfered with.
The 500 albums where taken to 48 record stores around the country.
A spokeswoman for Banksy told The Independent: "They're very subtly done and do look like the original albums. You have to look quite carefully to see what he's done.
"I don't like to speak on his behalf but I think he's saying you can be a celebrity but you don't have to do music. I don't know what the reaction will be in America or whether she would even get it."
Banksy is notorious for his subversive paintings - most recently stencilled an image of a naked man hanging out of a bedroom window on a wall in Bristol. The image sparked controversy, with the locla council leaving it up to the public to decide whether it should stay or go. After an internet discussion in which 97% supported the stencil, the city council decided it would be left on the building.
The artists also designed two of Green Day drummer Tre Cool's tattoos.

CNN will be devastated to learn that !! Oh, there is footage of course- a cameraman swims in front of Irwin and the stingray during the incident. But would you give up such footage to a news station rather than use it in your own 'show'? Screw CNN, Fox and their ilk- Animal planet should have that 'exclusive'. Read that Paris Hilton-story yesterday. 'Naked with a dogface', yeah, that sounds like her.

Paris is great.
Poor Steve Irwin's family. I sincerely hope the footage of him being stung is never shown, because the police said he actually pulled the barb out of his chest & probably died very shortly after that. Anyone who wants to see that is messed up.
Its a shitty thing to happen. No matter how much of a cringe-worthy dork he could be, he was very genuine (we met him at his zoo in Queensland once & he was exactly the same as you'd see on camera) & anyone who dedicates their life to wildlife welfare & environmental conservation, you have to respect. There aren't a great deal of people putting massve amounts of effort into the environment like he did, especially around his home state.
At least he died in a beautiful part of the world.

I don't think the footage of him being stung will ever be shown. That's just sick. I mean, I suppose if he survived it would be cool to watch, but there's no way they'll show him actually dying. That's not the type of thing anyone, and especially his loved ones would ever want to see. btw, Paris is great? WTF??

I'm taking the husband shark diving again this weekend, to cure his fears of deadly underwater creatures. If there are sting rays down there, I'm going to freak out. Maybe I should wear an armoured breast plate?
