Look maarts. You're either with us or you're against us. The terrorists don't listen to reason, and neither should we. Or do you want the next terrorist attack to come in the form of a nuclear strike? We are turning a corner. George W. Bush is a visionary President. Saddam Hussein had trailers and aluminum tubes that he could have given to Al-Qaeda. And we would have been fucked. Thank God for George W. Bush. You know why this place is dead? Why so many wind up leaving for Sedaka? It's because you people can't take a damn joke the way it's intended.
Maarts, the correct response to kenny is to play along with him, because he's being sarcastic, not arguing with you. Do you honestly not know after 5+ years that you're both on the same side on this issue? Is it that you haven't noticed his eloquent posts on the subject or do you just not have a sense of humor?
RocDoc, the correct response to kenny is to realize that he's making fun of you for being a longtime Bush/war supporter, that for all your attempt to whittle your pomp and oh-so-cultural observations into supposedly razor-sharp observations, you still wound up on the pig-ass-fucking wrong side of history of the defining event of our time, and that you have neither the intellectual nor moral ground to be making snide remarks to him in return. In other words, you're owned, and shut up.

FWIW;
Of course I detected the humour in Kenny's post- had a good laugh about it too! It was a clever line. Yes, I know that he is on my side. And to be called out and being read the riot act by shin! Made my day!
Guess in the 5+ years you have been communicating with me you haven't been able to figure me out yet.
I'm sure a lot of people went to Sedaka because of the different atmosphere there, nothing wrong in that. In many cases it's not because that they have been pushed away from here or because you are such an engaging, welcoming host. Personally I spend my time on 4 different messageboards and I don't need Sedaka, the people that interest me from the old RS are all here. Some people on Sedaka do pop in here too. Sure, traffic at times has dropped off but the hardcore posters are always around and people who want to interact with the people here are always welcome. There's still plenty of quality here. I thoroughly enjoy your breakdown on the US Elections and have learned a lot in the debate being delivered there. Fact that not a deluge of posts greet me every visit doesn't mean there's plenty to read and take in.
And I don't have any trouble with any of you out there. Just loved the irony that it was shin objecting to someone like me having a larf!

Personally, I've grown to become less than enthusiastic about both factions. Fuck ye all as far as I'm concerned and it's cool since it doesn't seem to be any love lost from me or any one of you either. I mostly post here just to be the pain in your ass and that sometimes brings me great pleasure.
