I would rather have Stewart Smalley than the current President.

Well you're just going to have to settle for him as a member of the Senate.

You not taken with Mitt then? He looks fun.
At least you guys have some 'interesting' potential candidates on your hands. A mormon, a Clinton, and a 'black' (wooooo) candidate. The next Lab PM leadership 'battle' isn't even going contested here by all accounts (hello, democracy? Who voted YOU in?).
Looking at this Hagel guy's voting record, if he is the moderate Republican, then I'd love to see what the rest of the field stand for. Or perhaps moderate means something different in England : )

I guess it brings up an interesting question - Would you rather have a president with integrity that you don't agree with or a shitbag that happens to be closer to you ideologically?

I guess I'll cop out and say that it depends how his shitbagginess manifests itself. However, yeah, once a president is out of office, shitbagginess doesn't matter (usually), but his policies can still make a difference for decades. So I guess a guy who's a shitbag but supports the right policies is usually preferred, but again, it depends what sort of shitbagginess.

A very insular, self serving, inept sort with seemingly no real grasp of reality.

With the right friends he might get it right one in four

The shitbags have it!
I think we should still all take heart. It cannot feasibly be worse than it is now, regardless of who is in power next. However, justice mandates not only that we have a liberal in office, but an antagonistic liberal, someone who really, really, really upsets Christian conservatives. It would be preferable if he won the election by dubious means as well.

Hagel is basically going with the popular wind--like most politician--the war is unpopular right now and hes jumpin on that bandwagon... Ed, 1. It's Skvor if you're going to shorten it, not Skor, fuckface. If you're not going to show me the respect of getting my name right then stick me on ignore mode. 2. If you don't vote, shut the fuck up. Period. Shut up. You're opinions on anything are now mute and invalid on the subject of politics. Don't give me bullshit about how voting doesn't matter. Shut. Up. I hate people like you. Hate. Them. You're right. My opinions are mute and void because I don't vote. I also failed to fully understand reading comprehension in elementary school because I noticed that you said you weren't interested in my response and I did it anyway. I also decided to complain about candidates connected with dirty money even though I blog on a website that is responsible for contributing to the campaign of the current president, who is of one of the largest detructive forces against our constitution. There, I fixed that for you. 1. Don't blaspheme against the Peart, dude. 2. I'm not open minded to your point of view because you DON'T VOTE. Shut. Up. 3. Ban. 4. Ban. 5. Ban again. 6. Ban.
