song # 18 must have been "You Are" from Riot Act, not "Who You Are" from No Code. They haven't played the latter since Jack Irons was in the band (Aussie tour early 1998. Matt joined summer of 1998, and they haven't played Who You Are since....). Oh, you also got Sonic Reducer and SOLAT, both make for excellent songs to hear live. Alright, I edited it for your correction. And yeah, I was pumped for "Sonic Reducer". I love the original version of it, and I didn't know that Pearl Jam was covering it, so that was a great surprise, as was "State of Love and Trust". Wasn't expecting that one either.

Have you seen the Live @ the Garden DVD? The Buzzcocks join PJ on stage for a cool rendition of Sonic Reducer! Eddie also takes a few jabs at Good Charlotte which is quite humorous...
Of the 7 times I've seen them live, I've only heard SOLAT once....heres hoping I get it in t-minus 27 days...

The set list from when I saw them on the Vote For Change Tour...oddly not a single song from Riot Act... Vote for Change Tour Asheville, NC 10-06-04 - Set 1 Sometimes, Grievance, Corduroy, Hail Hail, Once, Dissident, Even Flow/(Blitzkrieg Bop), Daughter, MFC, U, Not For You, Blood Encore 1 acoustic Long Road, Elderly Woman Behind The Counter In A Small Town, Sleight Of Hand, Crazy Mary Encore 2 Brain Of J., Do The Evolution, Smile, The New World, Baba O'Riley That's an interesting set list.... Kind of a short set for them too, I'm not sure what was up...McCready was playing a maniac, made me wonder if he was on the junk again...

supposedly he got back on during the Binaural sessions, but has been clean and sober since.....Did you know the song "Habit" from No Code is about Mike? "Never thought you'd habit, I never thought you'd, never thought".....Its basically Ed speaking to Mike through the song...

If you look closely at all the little pictures on No Code, there is a picture of Mike puking....

I like Pearl Jam almost as much as I liked No Code when it first came out. did/do you like it a little bit or a lot? I am gonna say I like this enough, Paul. I am not crazy about it, I am finding it a little...boring? Still a great effort, just not very "me" right now. Still better than everything on the radio.

Still better than everything on the radio. fair enough...the second half of the album is a little difficult...maybe after some more listens/time/live renditions you may have more interest....

here are some thoughts I sent to a friend of mine via email a few minutes ago...
--------------------- To me, Parachutes is up there w/ All Those Yesterday’s, Off He Goes, and Around the Bend….Stone has a knack for melodies like that, eh?
MITS is just insane! I’ve listened to the album two more times today, and MITS is my #1.
Still kinda undecided on Army Reserve….
Gone is growing on me; the ending is incredible.
Life Wasted still = money
WWS is now enjoyable; don’t love it, but I like it. Maybe a notch above “Save You”…but I like “Grievance” more.
Severed Hand has been bumped from 1 to 2. So much noise on that song, plus I really like Mr. Vedder’s vocal delivery.
Unemployable = most catchy song on the album
Come Back simply hits a chord w/ me…takes me away and makes me think about stuff…Pearl Jam is kinda the only band that really does that to me…Sometimes Wilco or the Kinks can, but not like Pearl Jam. Come Back like In My Tree, Smile, All Those Yesterday’s, Immortality, Off He Goes, Who You Are, Parting Ways, or Nothing Man takes me away to a different place….
Comatose = face melter; I dig.
Big Wave, may be the weakest of the ‘heavy’ tracks, but I still like it; great guitar noise, and yet another riff that AC/DC would be proud of.
Wasted Reprise is a cool Boom/Ed number, better than Bugs! I like WR like I like Red Dot or Aye Davinita.
Inside Job is pretty good, but not great. Come Back would have been a better closer…

Wasted Reprise is pretty good, I mean it's just alitte filler track. Though I think it'd be cool if they opened each show with Life Wasted and closed with Wasted Reprise. I'm kinda of sucker for that kind of thing. When Cheap Trick used open with Hello and close with Goodbye it was awesome. Make a show of it boys.

If you go to Rollingstone.com there is a pretty good new interview with Eddie Veddar there.

If you go to Rollingstone.com there is a pretty good new interview with Eddie Veddar there. To answer your question from another thread....Yes, the new album is worth the price of admission. Is it better than No Code? Well, time and live performances will tell, but the force is indeed strong with this one...
