I've been lsitening to the Post Letterman show and a Sessions at AOL from this year between the two they play most of the new album. I have to agree with Ken this may take the top spot.

^^^ It's gonna be hard for Avocado to knock No Code off the top for me, but I'd say it's #2....No Code while not as consistent as Avocado just hits me in a way no other album on the face of the planet ever has..."Sometimes" into "Hail Hail" is sheer brilliance, not to mention part of the best stretch of songs on any album ever recorded. (Sometimes, Hail Hail, Who You Are, In My Tree, Smile, Off He Goes)....IMO, that's simply an amazing sequence of some of the best songs ever made. However, "Life Wasted" through "Big Wave" on Avocado (songs 1-8) is quite an amazing stretch as well...
What do y'all think of "Unemployable"?

Just finished reading PJ's current taping policies... man, even after all these years and all those official bootlegs, they still don't mind. Just another reason why they're more than musically my favorite band.
The Clash were "the only band that mattered". PJ's been labeled the "spokesmen of generation X", which was bunk from the get-go (the media will forever play the generation identity game). ... You could argue that this doesn't apply, seeing how they don't sell records like they used to, but PJ will always appear to me as "the band of the people". All those sold-out concerts and gold and platinum albums, and they still have their values, in terms of charity and society...

Hell yes, and I'll tell ya what, that new Sonic album is fackin Awesome, too (I just got it on vinyl, and boy am I glad I did). I'm also hopin to GOD that after the PJ/youth show in Vegas on July 6 - - sisy & I will embark on the 8 hour drive to Oakland to see SLEEPYTIME GORILLA MUSEUM do their thang on either Fri July 7, or Sat July 8 (they perform there both nights). If we succeed in this quest, we will have been in for, quite possibly, the greatest extended weekend of live music in our lives.

No, with Tom Petty actually. Who I'm not a big fan of, but it should be a fun show at least.

Tom Petty is one of the greatest live acts in rock, Rocky. I think you're gonna be pleasantly surprised. Really!

I saw last night that Pearl Jam is doing a storytellers show on VH1 this saturday. That might be alright. It's not very often that they get a good band to do one of those things, though I'll admit that they made some bands I rarely want to listen to seem reasonable... That Bands Reunited show had potential. Shame that they didn't focus on bands worth reuniting.
