Gaiman, I believe........ Not as cool as Jimmy Page's Crowley tower though.
Dude, seriously, Jimmy Page is for real but none of them have the seriousness in magick that Genesis P Orridge and Coil do.

thanks for that review Thornius. We've been feeling also that this will be the final tour for Tool, and so it was a massive relief having been able to get a hold of tickets for their Jan show down undah.
speaking of which, Maarts, if I hear of a spare ticket (not being scalped mind you), I will let you know asap. Though I can say with about 90% certainty that they're playing the Big Day Out next year (concert date is 2 days before Sydney BDO & promoters are Lees & West...), so if you're there you can still catch them.
MJK is a complete dick, I thought everyone accepted that years ago? He's been a dick each time I've seen Tool & the few times I got to see APC also. Though, he is nice to groupies who spend the better part of a night listening to his pretentious bullshite while doped up to their eyeballs - that I have on good authority.
You don't want to mess with a jiu jiutsu fiend however, even if they are only 5'5. My ex was a jiu jiutsu trainer & they're a strange tribe of people. Super-vigilant & lean.

god damn was that amazing. i was ten feet away from adam jones for almost the whole show. maynard was energetic as hell, dancing around all over the place. having never quite had the chance previously to witness danny careys drumming up close, i was completely blown away. probably the closest thing ive had to a religious experience since...well.....ever.
the opening band, isis, was pretty damn good as well.

Awesome man. Sucks I didn't get to see them this time around. And the poor old lady, she somehow never got to see her favorite band.

Tool: September 22nd, Palace of Auburn Hills, outside Detroit.
Drop-dead amazing. The stage show was simple, yet visually mindblowing. Their stagefloor is a video screen! You could tell Maynard was still a little bit sick because his mic wasn't as loud a previous shows... but he still sounded great.
Stinkfist - Great way to start it off The Pot - Danny is a god. The fills he did in this song were sick 46 & 2 - I'm drunk at this point. Awesome job Jambi - that opening riff is just sick live. Schism Lost Keys (Blame Hoffman) Rosetta Stoned - Wings For Marie 10,000 Days - with the wfm intro, this was my favorite song of the night. (break) - Maynard told us to behave, that Ohio was louder, and that he had to finish this up so that he could go look at internet porn Lateralus - They stretched this out to at least 15 minutes...holy f'n shite Vicarious - Gotta play a radio song Ænema - Nailed it, spot on, felt like I was 17 & ready to pit it up!!!
Overall, I loved the set list. This was more like seeing a jazz band than a "metal band" because of all the breakdowns they took in the songs. Crowd up front heckled Danny because of his Lakers jersey (we don't really like them here in Motown) so Maynard told us to behave lol

That is a pretty good special edition. I wish there had been more of the band discussing the albums. I've had it for at least 3 months. Definitely a must-have for all Tool fans.

Sweet... ya I just picked mine up yesterday. ABout 3/4ths of the way through .. . . hoping for some insight into the next(?) tool album. . . . (which I'm convinced there WILL be one).
Ever come around to the ambient/hard-rockin majesty that is 10,000 Days, JAC -?

I can't get a quarter of the way into it before I'm ready to yank it out of the player.

Well - after reading that entire Revolver TOOL magazine from cover to cover - I believe my prediction imbedded in my last review of TOOL's live show, was incorrect. The one about them calling it quits. Reading the magazine left me with the distinct impression that there will be another TOOL album. Hallelujah.

Looking back on the last tour - where I wasn't the only one to notice MJK's distance from his bandmates - - I can now conclude that the reasons for this involve his intense association with A Perfect Circle -- Adam, Danny, and Justin practically recorded all the music for 10,000 Days without Maynard - - and he returned from his APC sessions to provide vocals for the album. So there was probably some tension between them, as uncertainty filled the gaps. Now that it looks like APC might actually be the entity that bit the dust - - hope for new TOOL has re-emerged like rays of sunlight from a new dawn.
