I've checked into a couple of programs to try to easily back up some of these threads, but none has worked well. They either back up very little, or try to backup the whole internet... As a few here have also said, there are a few things I'd rather keep, but what the hell. Who'll care in a hundred years, right? Nice to see a few of the old crew still here. Carry on...

I was wondering today how long we'll all be posting on what is now known as "social media". Can you picture yourself at 70 or 80 still tooling around on the Net? Wouldn't you be too busy going to bingo and yelling at "those damn kids"?

i'll bet the novelty angle will wear off somewhat, especially on something as general-interest as facebook.
niches, special interests, those will stay - just like when rolling stone had SUCH a great worldwide response, what was it, 15 years ago?
THAT in itself was pretty amazing, that the RS name brought in people who started out by wanting to talk about music and i suppose, RS's style of political thought.
tho my guess is that the non-americans there were prob pretty unaware of how things 'really are' here, so there was a curiosity.
and with that, an inherent need to often criticize, sometiomes in a friendly way, tho often, pretty offensively.
