I sent the info to Hollow's e-mail a coupla days ago since I had it in my addresses...but that was along with a buncha other addresses and I got 4-5 of those 'undeliverable' messages after wards...BUT because I clearly remember reading somewhere that someone CAN 'trojan horse' ya with a virus in those, I just deleted w/o checking whose addies they were...
I think he'd just gotten a job promotion AND he was definitely pretty involed with his girlfriend as well...

...but also it's really nice to see so many of this *ahem* unique assortment here! ~ I'm tellin' ya it's bitch to figure out the 'conventions' here...'texttexttext' - so does that mean you gotta insert it after it erases it? I guess I'll find out after I hit 'post' eh? Erm, 'modify'... #nosmileys#nosmileys

I think it's really going to be funny if we all get used to coming here, RS comes back up, and we never end up returning.

Amazing that we got over 50 members to sign up over a single weekend. Not huge numbers, but maybe rs.com should take note.

Well, it might be hard to trust them if they wiped the boards clean. That is going to be a sore spot for many, including me. How many years would be erased? And I don't have a lot of hope they will retain the old boards. A little warning at least would have also been nice.

The warning is where they screwed up. There are enough friendships that have been formed on those boards (as is demonstrated by how quickly so many have found their way here) that it would have been nice to have some sort of warning to find ways to keep in touch. Although on the other hand, maybe it was a blessing in disguise. most of the good ones have found their way here, so if the pinheads stay away, who is complaining?
Although there was a chicken recipe on Phil's board that i kept meaning to print. Damnit, I'm mad again.

Yeah, despite rs.com obviously being pure evil for taking their boards down with no advance warning whatsoever, there is something really cool about seeing the rapid enthusiasm for this place...makes me think (i've having a cheesy moment, forgive me!) that we had something really cool and unusual over there. And seeing people like Howe back around, minus the trolls - fuck, this place rocks as far as I'm concerned So thanks again strat! I may still have a really old email from tuneschick, from when she requested a nick cave tape from me.... but that would be ancient, so it might be the same one shane simpson hunted down that didn't work. I'll see if I can find it though. Cheers, M

Mary, I just made a similar comment over on the Insect Lounge. Good to see so many of the good folks (and so few of the bad) have made it here. I liked ekul's analogy of survivors getting together after the nuclear holecaust, drifting together to form a new (better?) society. Or maybe just another internet forum

Yeah, it is very cool to see how quickly things have started up here. I don't think that the people currently running RS.com really appreciated just what a loyal and cohesive bunch they had coming to those boards every day. Too bad they couldn't have figured out a less draconian way to fix the problems (bombings, spammers, etc.) w/o pissing everyone off like this. The only drawback I see to these boards now is that we're unlikely to pick up "new blood" via people wandering through the site and discovering cool conversations, etc. Maybe we need to get Strato to figure out how to get these new boards listed on Google or somethin' ...
