despite rs.com obviously being pure evil for taking their boards down with no advance warning whatsoeverRS.com, as a whole, was pretty lame to begin with. I mean, it's the website for Rolling Stone magazine, which lost its credibility years ago! But the boards were great, and they should've at least said something in advance about getting rid of them. At least on these boards, the trolls/spammers are gone, and there are no more stupid board topics about Jessica Simpson and such. I really hope someone gets in touch with tunes. ~PunkChick

I'm actually hoping they delete all the old boards. That's just me though.

To whoever is running this board: There should be a whole sports section instead of just the little board I created. Then we can break it down to certain sports that have their own threads so people wont lump in cricket scores along with important sporting events

Shane, I could see why you'd say that, without all the lost posters to be all nostalgic with...you don't get to dig through old posts by Plokoon, AngelaWeeps, Captain Fantastic, etc., with the same geeky glee as many of us. Honestly, if it wasn't for all of the old posters' stuff on there, I wouldn't mind a "fresh start," either.
As is, if they do start over with all new boards, I'd really rather just stay here. I have no loyalty to RS.com at all, only the handful of boards I've been posting on for the last five years. The only reason I'd want to go back is for those moments when old-time posters come back out of nowhere. As for new posters with new stuff to say, well, these boards will certainly be lacking that, but I couldn't get back into RS enough to really appreciate them, anyway.
If they have wiped the slate clean, I really wish them to be plagued with bombers, trolls, and hackers who could bring the entire site down. Seriously, I hope for the demise of that shitty website. Wish I still subscribed to RS so that I could cancel it...

Has anyone emailed Rocky Sigman? Haven't seen him here yet and he certainly is deserving to be here as well.

Rocky's gotten plenty of e-mails. He just hasn't been online at all; haven't seen him on AIM in days.

Strat-0's been at work all day and is going to be home late tonight (maybe by 8:00 if I'm lucky) and he'll be working to get all the boards straightened out. It's kind of a tough job just getting started, but keep up the suggestions... he wants it, like the rest of us, to be the best board it can be. Later, all!

I know what you mean. It's obvious that everyone here misses it... that's why they're here. I do hope they get the RS boards up and running soon WITH the archives in tact. There's a lot of history there, that's for sure. And a lot of friendships (and more) have been made there. This is a great place to keep a lot of the posters together, but it's a shame we didn't get to have access to the email addresses, etc. of even more. If we think hard and fish around... maybe... just maybe we can get more people here so that when the boards are up and running there at RS again everyone can just continue on. Even if that happens, though, I think this place will continue on and take on a life of it's own.
