*Steps onto the Castaways stage in Tux and bowtie*
I'd like to thank my supporters, as well as my detractors, for giving me incentive to continue posting here throughout the years.
I'd like to thank Ryo for setting up this thread with which to honor my 10,000th post.
*koff*, where do I begin~?
Adam - your support and camaraderie on the Movie board and especially my beloved KoRn board have been very much appreciated.
Don't forget about the KoRn board - haven't seen you in there much lately. We gotta keep on pushin it into the 21st century,
so long as they're still around and kicking korny ass. As a true appreciator off their music your support in this endeavor has proven invaluable.
Bowiglou - Without your knowing devotion to the true uncrowned King of all popular music, David Bowie, my existence on these boards would suffer interminably. Thanks for your awesome taste in music and general contributions over the years, w/out you my unabashed love for David Bowie would probably be met w/dead stares or even jeers.
ded - I always call you "Dee - Eee - Dee", by the way, cuz you're not "dead" to me man, on the contrary. Your astute, relevant, and socially conscious input over the years has served to keep my penchant for swingin' off the scales in check. Ever the bastion of sanity and moderation, you are my anchor here, and for that I remain ever grateful.
Dr. Drum - Constantly on the outer periphery of my hauntings herein, nonetheless your sterling contributions to any convos I may happen to be involved with always hit the bull's-eye for being right "on the money", and well, who doesn't love money? Keep the rhythm man.
dolly - Without you, all of our lives here on Castaways lack all meaning. Hang on to her, J to tha L!
frag - The avatar you created for me touched my heart, mind, and soul - along w/some other regions best left unmentioned. Thank you.
fuzznuts - Every time I see your av it reminds me of when I was a wee lad, going to the Saturday matinees to watch Terence Hill and Bud Spencer in "They Call Me Trinity" and "Trinity Is Still My Name" and "Boot Hill". Classic westerns. And you like the Drive By Truckers too. I'll bet they like westerns. Thanks for just being "you", man.
Hollow - Don't forget to let us know about Emperor man. \m/ Hail Satan \m/
JAC - JAC, JAC, JAC, what can I say my man? You were my inspiration, my motivation, and my role model on the original rollingstone.com boards. You were everywhere! And your posts were
so damn long! It impressed the hell outta me. You were, and still are, my hero. Don't ever let the world get you down. Keep the Faith. And long may we post upon the endless fields of the world wide web together.
JLLM - If you don't keep up w/regular postings around here mate, well someone's bound to steal yr gf. Can't have that, can we?!
On a serious note, you are, and always will be, a legend in your own mind. Self confidence like that is rarely seen in these parts. Keep believin' in yourself mate.
Kats - Now that we are officially "myfriends", I feel compelled to become more of a regular on "Kat's Timezone". For the life of me I can't say just why I hardly ever drop by there. That will change. Thanks for being my myspace friend.
Holzman - What can I say? You're a lawyer. I'm not. But your vast knowledge - and enthusiasm - for music and posting here never fails to bring a smile to my face, and a tear to my eye. Ok not really a tear to my eye, but hey, smiles are good. Keep em comin'
kMc - You don't know how much your "token blackness" is appreciated here, man. You keep this place hip, and socially conscientious. Without you we'd just be another slice of home made apple pie and baked "Poe Tae Toes", so thanks for keepin' it real.
TheLady - Without you, I'd have seen Korn 9 or 10 times instead of 13. This means you are, quite literally, the coolest poster on Castaways. ;D You are also an inspiration to the writer in me. Let us never give up our dream of being published, and together our individual efforts at working on manuscripts can serve as a mutual inspiration for each other.
Layla - You keep the pulse here skippin' a beat w/your electric, fabulous presence. Your sense of humor coupled with your keen mind and learned ways is a guarantee to all Castaways that so long as you keep posting here, there will be some excitement. Don't ever stop being yourself - even if you
are just another overweight 50-something year old pedophile hiding behind a killer persona
*j/k!* luke - Your pugs own you. And we're all grateful they've taken such good care of ya man. They could stand to shave you and change your socks more often, but hey, at least there's no "smell-o-meter" or live video feeds incorperated into this forum.
maarts - It's taken awhile to begin getting to know you, but the more I do, the more I become even more grateful for this wonderful invention called "the internet". Hookin up peeps from as far away as Australia is somethin' else. And I hope our relationship online only becomes richer in time. Say hi to Nicole and Russell for me, willya?
Mary - The first thing I noticed about you, back in the day, was how you always signed off w/ "cheers,
M". I always thought that was way cool. You've always been the voice of reason on the CE boards, and that is saying something. Your cool, collected posting style never misses a beat and always pays attention to little details the rest of us would most likely skip, in our laziness. The knowledge you've gathered since we've known you here is truly staggering, and to put it quite simply, your presence on these boards is indispensable. Thanks for all the sharp insight over the years, you are a Castaways treasure.
Matheus - Man you're never around anymore, but when you're here, I always like your company. You should stop by more often.
Shaner - Every time you pop in, it makes my day. You were like, my best friend just before the old boards got axed. Cobras 4ever!
Mr Gordon - Even though you rarely pop in yourself, mad respect goes out to you in the frozen northlands. Don't ever stop believing in Tool, Bill Hicks, or the good greenery god planted on this earth for us. Rock on!
Mr & Mrs Scottsy - Our married mascots. Your bright shining faces and upbeat posts are always a pleasure. Anyone who loves The Church as much as you do Scottsy is 100% ok in my book. Rock on in the land down under.
Ndy - I barely ever see ya here man but I had to give a shout out anyhow !
Tuatha - You listen to more real metal than any of these other indy posers could even dream of. Keep on rockin' in the real world \m/
pattentank - YOu're one of the originals man. Where are you? Did ya slip down an internet rabbithole, to illuminate the denizens therein to the diverse musical talents in your never ending catalog of bands you somehow manage to keep up with? If there's such a thing as the genuine "Castaways Road Scholar", dude you're it. Either I'm too hungover to realize it, or you barely come around anymore. We're all the poorer for it.
Paul - Dude, you're cool cuz you love Pearl Jam almost as much as I do. You've got some problems appreciating some of the more classic stuff, but at least you're wildly into the Kinks, which totally makes up for that. Don't forget: "Paranoia Self Destroyah!"
Patlogi - In another world, in another time, in another body, and another mind, I would totally switch teams 4U.
Proud - You're still hangin' in here, man. For that you should remain Proud.
PunkChick - Not sure how often I see you here, but I gotta give you props for just being you. You rock, girl !
Res - Did she ever post here ? Really -? & I missed it ? Next drink I toss back goes out to you, dear.
Riley - Man, we used to really get along. What happened ? Is it my blatantly advertised love for that turd Jon Davis & his band?
Whatever the reason for the silent treatment, I still love ya man. Speakin' of switchin teams . . . ;b
R.I.T. - "Pretty Well Done", ha. Although our online correspondence has settled down to just a simmer, I look back upon our "bonding period" with much affection and appreciation. We really closed the gap between us that started out when you and "Indy Lover" or whoever that was first stumbled onto the rollingstone.com boards. We used to have it out, back then. Now I consider you one of the online acquintances I have with whom I can most relate, more often than not. Keep bringin' it, Ritalin Pants.
RocDoc - You ol' scoundrel, you. My former nemesis, arch-enemy of the CE boards back when my own intolerance for such spiked at a higher, more youthful ("rebellious") level. I've since learned to simmer down myself some, and I'll tell you what - - your cantankerous nature is just part of your charm as far as I'm concerned.
Rockkid - If that old man of yours ever leaves you in the lurch, shoot me a PM and we'll see if sisyphus here has done the same to me
Rocky - What can I say, Rocky? Nothing that hasn't already been said a thousand times before: I love you
Ryo - Man, without you, this Award Presentation and Long Dragged Out Speech could never have happened. You were the first to notice my obscene post count & U're the creator of this here board. So anyone who has a problem with the length of this post can direct their complaints to Mr. Ryosuke Okawa. It's all his fault.
Sampelstiltskin - See Rockkid's comment
Kool - You posted on the korn board. For that I owe you a thank you note. Thanks.
Shin - What can I say, lord shin? We started out as a couple of wise asses on rollingstone.com, and look at us now. Having an affair in Salt Lake behind sisy's back. I remember how I "dared" you to come on out here, and you did, ya big hunk o' man meat, you.
Check your PM, we should get together tonight as sisy is working the grave shift.
Skvor - Dude, huge props to you and your hometown of Austin man. It's only a matter of time afore we get to hang out, for real like. You never fail to post exactly what's on your mind, no compromises, no bullshit, and besides you have the most enormous set of music loving parameters w/the possible exception of pattentank. Don't ever water yourself down here man.
sisy - I love you baby. Don't ever change
Melaun - We exchanged mix tapes /CDs. You da man. In many ways, our taste in music is quite similar. Our devotion to the true classics, for instance: Pink Floyd and Zeppelin ! To hell w/the rest of em, they wouldn't know a flying pig if it hit em on the wing!
Keep rockin' man, and keep the faith.
Tunes - I wish I knew you better. But we can't be everywhere at once, can we?
Wayved - You wear your heart on your sleeve, and for that there can be no substitute. Not arrogance, not cleverness, nothing. You're the real deal, and its a distinct pleasure getting to interrelate with you more and to know you better.
Weeping - We will all be eternally grateful for your having created the most popular, and coolest, board on Castaways: Weeping's Movie Board. It is a true icon of these stomping grounds, and therefore Weeping, I salute you!
And now on to my 2 honorable mentions:
Chrisfan -- Although you competed w/RocDoc for the #1 Slot as My Ultimate Nemesis on these boards, I have to honestly say I wish you were here (to quote my once favorite band ever). I appreciate diverse points of view way more than
any status quo, so there ya go.
PEW-- I've saved you for last, dude.
I want to dedicate the new Stooges song, the one which kicks the album off to a sweet start, "Trollin' ", to Paul Edward Wagemann.
Because, when you get right down to it, aren't we
all "Trollin' " here . . . ? I mean really ;D
