The whole "because the music do" thing was an INSTANT turn-off for me. Needing to stick in a word that rhymes with "you" is no excuse for penning a line that makes absolutely no damn sense. It just sounds stupid. Moreover, it makes *them* sound stupid.

I did kind-a go "wtf" at that line, and in fact re-listened to make sure thas what he said, and when I realized it seemed like it, I shrugged & got on with the rest of the song (which was just about to end, so I had to hop back on like quick). So, it's a throwaway lyric for a throwaway song. I am extremely curious about the rest of the album's flow, now more than ever (because of Twisted Transistor).
I always thought Korn had a real "punk" heart that they wore on their sleeves proudly for all to see. ("punk" being an ethic not a sound). I still believe that to this day (and this song does nothing to dispell that).
If you ask me, KORN has replaced true punk, and "Kornered" the market on it.
(Look no further than the 10 Million Kidz following them over the next cliff's edge)
Yeah . .. they still got it alright

I don't know what composing a grammatical atrocity in the interest of rhyme has to do with punk, but I'm sure one can maintain his "punk" don't-give-a-damn attitude without looking like an absolute moron. These lyrics are like 85% some fucking Backstreet Boy shit, with Jonathan throwing in a line here and there. "A lonely life where no one understands you but don't give up because the music do!!" WHAT?!?!
The more I listen to it, the more I am convinced this will be the song I consistently skip on the CD. The fact that it is their lead-off single gives me a bad feeling.

And I hate to say it, but Korn has nowhere near 10 million kids following them. Maybe they did at one time, but those were fair-weather fans and certainly didn't give them the kind of loyalty you're talking about. Their last 2 CDs barely went platinum.

Don't be sad. I'm disappointed that their new single didn't live up to my expectations. But they're allowed some fuck-ups... I barely listen to Untouchables anymore but TALITM is the shit. I'm damn sure buying the new CD when it comes out, and if it's not up to par, oh well, they'll get it right next time.

Thas better. ;D Yeah, I know how U must feel . . . I actually enjoy listening to both iSsuEs & Untouchables the most, these days. Followed by TALITM, then the early stuff. Not that I listen to their 1st 3 much anymore, these days. (I could easily put on any of em anytime, of course, to rock out nostalgic) So yeah, I understand your reticense when it comes to "twisted transistor", it really is a throwaway tune, which ain't a bad thing necessarily. I"m just hoping they're using the reverse-strategy of heading out with a weaker track first, in order to WoW us with the rest. I heard there's a freakin' long ass instrumental, "Orion"-like song on there, and if that's the case, I can't wait for that shit. (Metallica's "Orion", of course) I'll bet we get a pretty miXed bag o' popkoRn on this one. So long as it's fresh & new, I'll be happier than a TALITM II, I'll tell U that much. But I hear what you're sayin on cuttin' em some slack, if they don't quite knock it outta the park this time. They're still reeling from the loss of Head, I know that much. But I gotta hand it to em that they've decided to go on without him . . . seriously, I'd'a thunk they'd call it quits, what with Sir Headly being such an integral part of the old sound. But that would've been worse--! So I am very happy they're continuing on as a 4-piece. Maybe after more water flows under the bridge, they'll replace Headly with a semi-competent guitarist. The fact they're not doing it right away shows respect. I love this band like no other.

I'm just thinking . . . . . about the possibility (as awful as it might be), the possibility that our beloved band might . . . actually . . . release . . . A GodAwful album for the first time in their lives!!!!! *Now for the "bad" on Twisted Transistor* --It sounds rather tired, to me. --That breakdown, despite it being one of the things people say "cool" about, is rather lackluster & by-the-numbers, and pretty pedestrian or UNexciting (it certainly ain't "rockin") *back to the "good", or rather, the "hopeful"* --I don't think the song is supposed to rock --It does have a "catchy chorus" and beat --I am sure the sounds & textures will be real cool on the CD *in conclusion* --I'm afraid Jon & crew might have as their GOAL an ambition to reach RADIO HEIGHTS they once enjoyed during FTL (nothing would bring them crashing to earth in flames quicker, I suspect) --I know they're still in it for their fans, but . . . --I simply am afraid they've switched focus from their streetlevel, concertgoing fans to their potential radio audience--I sure as hell hope this isn't the actual case *in short* --Will just have to wait for the album to drop to find out

Hey Lady - - have you checked the link provided for Twisted Transistor lately -? Apparantly it's down, so I was just wondering . . . .d'ya think korn had anything to do with taking it down? If so, lucky thing I saved it to my harddrive already

That sucks. I would've wanted a chance to hear it. Wouldn't have mattered anyway. Until my roommate and I get high-speed next week, we're still stuck with shitty dial-up. My, how our lives will change...

Looks like we're all set to take a glancing blow from that Rita bitch this weekend. I live about 200 miles inland, so at least we won't get the full brunt... unless she takes a sharp northern turn, then we might still end up with a cat 1 or 2 hurricane to deal with. If she swings west of us (as projected -- fingers crossed), we'll just get the rains, wind, power outages, and the occasional tornado. Sounds like a fun weekend.
