Nope, that "documentary" was the video. Did you notice the name of the record company JD was an exec for? Phony Music. A dig at Sony, perhaps? Haha! He was hilarious. "I need to see some booty shakin'!"

It's hard to imagine, but Korn — who've been a band for more than 10 years, and one of rock's biggest acts for most of them — have never performed on "Saturday Night Live." In fact, until Jonathan Davis and the boys played "Word Up" and "Freak on a Leash" on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" little more than a year ago, Korn had shunned television altogether.
"We had a thing against doing TV for a long time because of the way it sounded and the way bands came across on it," Davis said. Korn's "SNL" set will start with "Freak" and end with "Twisted Transistor," the first single off of their forthcoming See You on the Other Side, due December 6. "But there have been leaps and bounds with the technology, so we're going to be giving it a try."
The morning after Korn's "SNL" debut this weekend, the band will fly to England for a club gig at London's Forum. Before they head home to play New York's Hammerstein Ballroom, however, they'll round up 40 European fans to accompany them across the Atlantic. It's all part of a contest the band's unleashing via MTV Europe in the coming days. Winners will be chosen from seven countries (Germany, France, Spain, Denmark, the U.K., Sweden, Norway and Holland) and get some quality time with Korn on the seven-hour transatlantic flight.
"We've talked about doing something like this for a while," Davis said. "We'd talked about getting on a plane and playing eight different countries in 24 hours. But it just seemed cool to get some fans and fly 'em in and do a special show."
"It's just another way for us to reach out to our fans and let them know that we care about them and that they're still important to us," guitarist James "Munky" Shaffer said. "They're dedicated and love Korn, and we want to show that love back."
The one-off November 29 concert — a pre-release gig celebrating See You on the Other Side, the band's seventh studio LP but Korn's first for new label home Virgin Records — will be taped for a half-hour special on MTV2 airing December 3 at 9:30 p.m. and December 6 at 10:30 a.m. Korn will also be hosting MTV2's "T-Minus Rock Countdown" December 6 at 11 a.m., and the Hammerstein show will be available online via MTV Overdrive in early December.
"It's a one-time-only show, all the production that's going on," Davis said. "So you either see it or not."
The New York date is one of a handful the band has lined up in December. Davis said Korn will embark on a full-scale, two-month U.S. headlining run toward the end of February; an itinerary is still being confirmed, he said. "The cities we don't hit, we'll hit when we come back this summer" as part of a second U.S. trek, the frontman promised. "It'll be a world tour — we'll start in the States, go overseas to Europe, Southeast Asia, Australia. We're hitting the whole world."
Of course, See You is an album some of Korn's fans might not accept right away — it could take some time for them to get used to the new Korn, given that the band has undergone something of a rebirth since the departure of founding guitarist Brian "Head" Welch.
"I think the loss of our friend and him as a musician was devastating to us," Munky explained. "We turned the loss around as an opportunity for the band to re-create ourselves, because it made us feel very fragile — like this whole thing could fall apart at any moment. So we wanted to reinvent ourselves and give ourselves another opportunity to create something totally new. ... December 6 is Korn's new birthday."
Virgin will release two versions of the album, including a deluxe edition featuring a bonus disc of five tracks: "It's Me Again," "Eaten Up Inside," "Last Legal Drug (Le Petit Mort)" and two "Twisted Transistor" remixes. The disc will also include live footage shot during a Korn show in Russia.
The album's songs are one thing, but Davis said he and the rest of Korn are perhaps most proud of See You's art, which features a weeping child clutching a headless teddy bear.
"It was done by a friend of mine named David Stoupakis. He's a local artist here in New York and I first saw his artwork at the CBGB gallery, when we did that free show there," Davis said. "I gave him this lyric from one of the songs ['Seen It All'] ... 'I'm just a child with a tear in his eyes/ And I'm holding this gift that is broken.' And I go, 'Paint that.' And he came up with [the cover], and it really blew everybody away."

Oh man . . . I heard SEE YOU ON THE OTHER SIDE last night, at my friend's place. . . he got the album ripped . . . we listened to it.
Daaaaaamn . . . it is different, number 1. I can already hear the complainers, the whiners, and the haterz. But the songs are overall so good that I can only keep my fingers crossed there will be a whole new generation of kidz who will not only "get" the new korn, but embrace it fiercely like a long lost doll a mean uncle tossed away, unsuspectingly returned to the fold of their bedroom.
Lady, all I can say is wait'll you hear the LAST track. . . "tearjerker" . . .

It's like . .. ok, it starts w/ "twisted transistor", and we all know what that song's all about; (i.e, not "hard"/instrument-oriented, classic~koRn). Well it serves as a "fair warning" for what's to follow, mainly more songs wherein the die hard listener is hard pressed to pick out david, Fieldy, *or* Munky out of the synthetic fold of dreamy music swirling out of this strange midnight brew . . . the only paramount and patently obvious "korn" reference-point at ALL seems to be Jonathan, whose distinctive vocals would be recognized by even the most jaded non-fans out there. . . This "vibe" seems to haunt the first few batch of tunes on SYOTOS, veritably transforming our beloved hard-knocks band right before your very ears into something . . . tauntingly less than the sum of their parts, yet strangely attractive anyhow in a different way than we're accustomed to. Not that we weren't given sufficient forewarning with the likes of tunes such as hollow and alone I break . . . but I found it somewhat dismaying that I could hardly pick david, fieldy, or munky out of the synthesized stew of the first few tunes from this bubbling brew.
Then around the 4th or 5th track, a real korn-vibe strikes out at you, slapping you across the chops with a wee bit more familiarity, so the shade of a smile begins to haunt your face. Then another one gets knocked out, and we're suddenly kneedeep in more welcome koRny territory. (I will say the 2nd tune - "politix" - knocks it out w/that familiar korn vibe, only mainly due to Jonathan's striking vocal performance on that one, more than the drum/bass/guitar vibe it has - - that's an awesome new korn song right there)
But yeah, halfway through the album it starts to solidify into something more reminescent of what we might expect from our beloved crew of leftover misfits.

Songs like Liar . . . hypocrite .. . There is some weirdass shit awaiting you kidz w/tunes like "Coming Undone"... and that song "10 or a 2-way" (your requisite "dirty" korn song) . . . the song "getting off" is an amped-up return to classic in-your-face korn honesty . . . wait'll you get a load of the penultimate track "Seen It All" . . . there are some real gems buried in this kid's chest of broken dolls and maimed toy soldiers. . .

That's awesome, Thorny. The guys are going to be at XM Radio this Saturday to preview some of their new tunes, so maybe I'll get to hear a few of them. Don't feel bad that you missed them on SNL. I was disappointed. Not in their performance, really, but something was lacking in the sound... seemed like something just wasn't "turned on," for lack of a better way to describe it. TV just isn't their thing; it's not their crowd. And it didn't look right without Head up there with them, either. They performed TT and FOAL, and Freak was the better performance.

Did fReak sound "different" without Headly-? (Or was his guitar part stuck in there anyway...?)
Yeah, the new album is definitely heralding a new era for Korn. . . . I'll say one thing. . . they've given us their "hurt" . . .

Fukkin HEAD missed the boat on this one, the album should be called "SEE YA!" for short. Korn have consistently pushed their boundaries for a decade, we ARE "Seeing Them On The Other Side" RIGHT NOW, bitches!
I love the whole Album Artwork concept featuring a motley assortment of childhood fantasy motifs, and the way the various characters such as the rabbit, pig, cat, & lamb are all depicted holding up paintings of the guys in the band, showing how in their dream land, it is US who inhabit the "fantasy" world.
Hearken back to the day when albums were released on vinyl, & the artwork was integral to the themes of the music, such as Pink Floyd used to do, to name one example. With SYOTOS, we have the blossoming of this approach in full effect, and quite brilliantly, I might add.
The music on this album can be described w/the following words:
Trippy. Beautiful. Grotesque. Absurd. Intense. Perfect. Broken. Dreaming. Lyrical. Truthful. Honest. Screaming. Jaded. Cracked up. Sexual. Piercing. Leering. Haunted. Personal. Open. Naked. Bursting. Flowing. Bitter. Sweet. Knowing. Stellar. Rocking. Flawed. Shining. Odd. Triumphant. Subversive. Lonely. Correct. Perverse. Erotic. Symphonic. Original. Defiant. Dynamic. Reliant. Spastic. Somnambulent. Drastic. Elastic. Devastating. Fantastic.
See You On The Other Side is everything its cRacked uP to be. It's not so much a reinvention, but a declaration of integrity. Other albums (by other bands), by contrast, come across as just a collection of songs. Whereas SYOTOS is a wholly articulate deliverance of an organic cohesiveness, a wide-ranging address of iSsuEs across the board dropped like an A-bomb to even the score.
I have no qualms declaring it to be the best album of the year, and its because of every last little thing in it I hear. All I can say to those that don't get it is this is NOT FOR YOU & I can only look @ your dwindling faces Left Behind in the distance, If only you could see what we've seen w/out putting up resistance, KoRn have proven themselves to remain true in this instance & if its not obvious to you they're going the Distance turn back now and Follow Head cuz you don't have the persistance it takes to make the grade, BYOTCH!
~peace Up, thoRn ouT
