There are still alot of artist out there that do have that old school twang. Like you thoug, I wish that that were the case with popular country and it wasn't so fascinated with "crossover" success.

i'm pretty much over The City. (and fucking the future?)
lately i found that i have the best time when i'm playing it low-key with one or two good friends. maybe a coffeeshop or just someone's basement. i'm sick of "the scene" and think i would be just fine if i never participated again.
as long as we could brew some kind of intoxicating substance and find a way to make any kind of art, i think i'd be just fine off-grid with a few friends.
last night was so much fun, i hung out with a couple friends and we started making a movie, in which one friend anointed another with taco sauce and he went berserk because of it. then we went and played on an empty clothesline bar in his backyard. simple pleasures!

I'm with you samps - I do however like being close by the City, and even venturing out and about now and then. But, I'm an introverted extrovert (if that makes sense). I yap and yap to peeps I'm comfortable with, but in large clubs, pubs, whatever, I shut down. I'd much rather hang out with my very close inner circle of friends, jam, drink, smoke, and just hang out than go to any bar. Even when I was a youngin' I never liked the bar scene that much. Sure it's a way to meet girls and all, but overall, I hate it. I hate waiting in lines to get drinks, piss, and even get in. When I go out, it's typically dive spots to catch a local band. |

U'll be in LA this weekend skvor ? Will you be checkin' out this show on Sunday : ?  Cuz its not only headlined by POSSESSED, but fuckin' MorteM plays, along w/all those other killer bands ! I was all set to go, actually, w/3 of my friends -- supposed to head out Saturday, possibly catch Possessed in Vegas that night, then head on to the Knitting Factory in LA for the Sunday extravaganza of headbangin' evil metal. I'm dying to see MorteM (one of my alltime favorite underground DM bands), but just don't know if I can afford this trip now. Anyway. . . you'd be crazy to miss out on this one, if you're anywhere near the epicenter of the madness... |

i'm a city girl through and through...living off the grid has NO appeal to me. zero zilch zippo. give me noise and crowds and pollution and big ugly old modernist buildilngs and the scent of pee in the air any day and every day over pristine nature  |
