You're asking the wrong guy, Thorny... How did you come to learn of "Angel Fire"? I'm interested in the Angel Fire bit, but you might want to send a personal message to kay jay, who would probably know about it... Did you get the photo from an Angel Fire website? They may have restrictions concerning uploading their images, but like I said, I dunno... One thing y'all may want to take into account...the SIZE of the photos you post may cause the overall view of the posts to elongate in width. This won't be a problem for those of you with large screen monitors, but it does present some difficulty for those of us with smaller ones. May I suggest that larger photos be posted sparingly? Thanks. I don't know much about Angel Fire, but here's what I would suggest: If you see a pic online that you want to "keep" to use, I would right click, save as (put in somewhere you can remember on your hard drive), then upload it to a site of your own (many ISPs offer free web space) - yahoo! offers photo albums, as do many other locations - and ICQ also offers free space for ICQ users. All are easy as pie to set up. Once the pic is where you want it, link it here as desired. Next, for those with smaller monitors (mine is 17"), if you use IE, you can go to "View" at the top of the menu bar, go to "Text Size" and make it smaller. Then you'll end up with a similar image on your monitor as those with larger monitors, eliminating "the stretch" syndrome. OR you can readjust your display size in your control panel under "Display" (then to the "Settings" tab) to a larger number. The default for many of the larger monitors are 1024 X 768 all the way up to (and beyond) 1280 X 1024, where the smaller monitors may be anywhere from 640 X 480 to 800 X 600. Changing the monitor settings will also make the images smaller, thus eliminating the stretching. Most monitors will have a limit on what they can handle, so don't try to set a 13" monitor to the highest setting - it might not be able to handle it. Good luck, everyone, and let's PAR-TAY!

[/glow] -JACkory Aight JAC -- I got it figured out, thanks to TheLadyOfTheLake, who show'd me the ropes. Yes, I got this one image (on another board) from AngelFire, unwittingly. The thing to do if AngelFire blocks your image -- is easy. 1)goto Imagetown.net 2)click on 'browse' 3)open the pic that you've (already) *saved to your hd* 4)click on 'upload' 5)Imagetown then gives you a NEW URL, AngelFire-Free, which you can easily MODIFY and replace the old AngelFire-URL with and PRESTO!, your image has been successfully stolen from those AngelFire bastards, and left alone to be admired by everyone permanently. ;D That's VERY interesting! Thanks for the post - it may just come in handy some time for many of us!

I'm curious just how many of the images I've left strewn behind me appear as little "x's" to y'all-? Cuz some will work for the user but not other viewers, from what I understand. I guess to be on the "safe" side, you can use Imagetown.net. Pretty cool . www.click-smilies.de/sammlung0304/cool/cool-smiley-014.gif[/img]

Well, I, for one, don't see any X in the place of any images you've posted. Great job!

Since this board is and always will be- no matter where it's located- a haven for Pumpkins lovers, I'm gonna rant.... I was pissed today because I couldn't find my copies of Siamese Dream or Mellon Collie, before realizing that they're on my desk at my old apartment. Well, probably, they'd best be. So instead I popped in Machina, which I haven't listened to in at least a year, probably more. Gotta say, I was totally bought on the "it's the low point of their catalogue" nonsense, although I remembered loving the album when it came out, taking it on one of my more fateful trips to Panama City Beach. Listening to it again, man, I LOVE it. More than I ever did Adore because, of course, the man known as Jimmy Chamberlain just kicks so much ass wherever he goes. I do believe that AMG said that this album sounded more like "solo Corgan" than anything before it, but that's bullshit. Jimmy's evident here, although Iha does get buried a bit. D'Arcy, well, she's never been the band's highest point. I'm on track nine, "The Imploding Voice," and man, this stuff is classic Pumpkins. A couple weak tracks, and it's no Siamese Dream, but still, I don't understand all the knocking of this album. At all. My only complaint is the fuzz. I don't know if Flood or Billy is more to blame than this, but the fuzz needs to go. It works in some spots, but overall, it buries some of the most amazing, pop-laced hooks I've ever heard, and really takes away from what could have been the Pumpkins catchiest album. A lot of people say that they prefer Machina II to this one, but I disagree. This album flows better, and you can see the intention behind it. It's way overproduced, and Billy could have gotten back on the radio if he'd taken it down a notch, but alas, that remains the biggest flaw. I also remember thinking that this album got snubbed too soon. Corgan got pissed and gave up too early. A couple more singles, and something could have caught on. In a big way.

Especially since Melissa is a lot sexier than Darcy.
There I said it.
Or does it even need to be said. She's a sexy Montreal chick and a better bass player and played in a BLack Sabbth cover band.

Auf Der Maur was always a bit butch for me...I dunno. I never found D'Arcy all that sexy, really. I mean, I guess if I saw her on the street, I'd be all, "Ooh, look at that alterna-chick, she's sexy..." but when I see her in the band, I dunno, she's no Kim Deal...
Know what song I love? "Cool As Kim Deal" by the Dandy Warhols. What a great band.

Okay, one more flaw in Machina. Unlike the huge, perfect Mellon Collie, some of these songs should have been either taken off or replaced by some of the catchier Machina II bits.

Know what song I love? "Cool As Kim Deal" by the Dandy Warhols. What a great band. Fuck yeah. Brilliance. Pure brilliance. For some reason I think they're a bit more popular up here. Monkey House was released here and in the UK before the States. Do people get them down there, or only here and there?

Hmmm...well, I dunno if the general gist of it all is up your alley, but you should really go out and pick up Siamese Dream just in case. ekul, Sweet, Angela, samples, Jesus, bbp, and every other obsessive whoever touched ground in here can't all be wrong.

Ekul, if you're going to carry a Magnum picture , do you have any idea where I can get a nice shot of Higgins?
