Mellie, there's a real handy private message feature here. Just click on their name and click on "send private instant message." They will get a notice at the top of their screen here. Then you just click on the notice. If they aren't online, they'll see the notice the next time they log in. You can also set it up so that when you are sent a message it also goes to your designated email account.

Does anyone know when the boards are starting up again exactly, or are we still at a vague "they're coming back this summer" stage of our journey.... thatis if we're even bothering to return there...

Good question, Scottsy. I don't know what we'll find, but I'm not especially optimistic. In any case, these boards will carry on. RS pulled a low-down fast one on us, and that ain't gonna happen again.
It might be interesting to see what happens in the first couple of weeks after they go back up...

I think this forum has a real future Strat, I am liking this quite alot! I think if people keep coming here, I'll be coming here regularly, it'll be fun keeping this little online community project going!
I'll check out the new boards, hey I might even post there if they are reasonable, but I think I'll be a stayer here as well if it stays up and the interest level is as strong as my own...
The new site might attract new posters and create interesting new dialogues, but I really value the friendships I made at the old site and I am continuing here...
Plus I'm not that optimistic that the kind of people RSW are trying to attract with their new boards are going to be the kind i have enjoyed metting at the old site...
I have a feeling they'll be gunning for the Britney and Justin Timberlake fans... in which case I don't see the site holding my interests for any reasonable length of time.

How be you anyways maarts.... it feels like an eternity since I caught you on these here boards!
I am doing good myself, of course would be much better if I had a certain Mellie with me, but doing as well as I can!
We discovered the wonderful world of webcam chatting last weekend, just puts us that little bit closer in touch while we go about the process of making Mellie and Aussie!!! :-)
Given that my 56k connection gives me bugger all bandwidth for using a Webcam and chatting... I applied for a nice DSL connection yesterday too... hopefully it won't take Telstra (they are pricks, we all know this well) to activiate my line and get me hooked up at high speed! Hurrah! Huzzah!
Haven't been spending TOO big on music lately... trying to save like crazy to visit Mellie in December! There really haven't been all too many interesting releases lately anyways!
