Yeah, that's what I normally like about my hairdresser too, rockkid - tis true, it's not easy to find one who WON'T just do whatever you fancy that day.
So this cut doesn't look bad ON me - I just don't like it. And J, I tried the flippy, messy look today, which was fine until my train broke down and I slept in my seat for an hour - so now it's flippy at the sides and completely straight in the back. I can't win.

I need someone to make me up a superhero costume, i'm going to start fighting evil doers such as abusive alcoholics and well abusive anything. Pretty much just rescue women and the odd cool guy if he smokes a bowl with me.

The women can't smoke a bowl with you? My costume idea would be: black shiny rubber pants, no shirt, Nephilim cowboy hat, black trench when it's chilly. Bedhead. That's just what I call my look, because I shower at night, don't use any products besides shampoo/conditioner, comb it once, and sleep on it. Good to go in the morning. No wonder I haven't been laid in months.. I just can't be arsed to look perfect or even good. Maybe I should call it depressedhead. Tunes, girl, that so sucks about the different haircut. All i can do is sympathize -- I'm trying to grow my hair out and can't really decide what to do with the bangs.. looks very awkward. In a few months we'll both have perfect hair.

Ooh, don't you hate that growing out phase? I had really short hair for most of high school, but even once in awhile I'd decide to grow it out. Went from short hair with bangs to below shoulder-length with no bangs (I looked like a total hippie, eep) and the growing-out thing was sheer torture - especially in summer. I feel for you, I really do. Of course, that didn't stop me from going through that phase a couple more times (easily bored) and it was always bad, bad news. Ugh. So yes - here's to perfect hair for us both in no time at all.

I don't imagine I'll ever grow out my bangs - they've become part of my signature look, I wager. Plus I just love the look of a jet-black solid wall of short bangs alongside a nice bob. But samps and tunes, you will both have spectacular, beautiful hair right around the time that mine has degenerated. I'm just hoping that this darker red won't fade to this awful looking orange color that inevitably seems to appear about 6 weeks after the dye job. That's definitely the downside of this 'do - for about 4 weeks, I feel totally fabulous, but then for another couple of weeks, I look like shit!!! So here's a fashion question for you ladies. I've always had lots of fun with my skirts and pants, but I've always been pretty generic on top. I tend to just buy loads of plain solid-color t-shirts at old navy, totally generic cuts, nothing too funky or bold or fancy. What kind of tops do you all wear, and are there any looks you consciously strive for with your shirts? Help me branch out!! NP: R.E.M. - Murmur (song: Shaking Through) Cheers, M

I shan't ever be rid of my bangs again either, just because I look undoubtedly better without them. Oh god, I am so completely the wrong person to ask about tops! I do the same sort of thing as you Mary - I have lots of pants and skirts in all sorts of colours and lengths and fabrics - but I tend to stay pretty basic on top. For instance, the cable-knit sleeveless turtleneck I said I was wearing today? I own SIX of them - two black, brown, charcoal, lavender and off-white. I pair them with everything when the weather's not killer hot (and even when it is, since my office is rather frosty.) When I find basic tops that I like, I buy in bulk... including those t-shirts from Old Navy. So I have no advice... but I'll listen to the advice of anyone else who has some!

You know, when I moved out the other day, I threw away about three cans of Bedhead. Stuff runs about twenty bucks or so...could've sent it to Jesus or something.
I noticed that even the mention of Bedhead brings up ads for the stuff at the top. I'm on a mission to make the ads above start advertising dildoes or something.
DILDO! DILDO!

OMG, I can't believe I didn't know this place was here! of course, I haven't been around in a few days, well, more like a week.
anyway, sorry 'bout the haircut, tunes, but I bet you'll be used to it in no time. and besides, you probably still look great, you're a beautiful girl!
ya know, I've not had my hair cut by someone else since I was like, 12. Sure, my mom trimmed it a few times when I was still getting the hang of it, but that's the last time I went to the salon. And I've been cutting and trimming it myself since I was in high school. It's just easier. And I do most of my friends' hair, too, and my sister's. It's just a knack I have and I'm really glad. I didn't know until about a month ago just HOW expensive it IS to get your hair done at most nice salons. GOOD GRIEF!!
well, just wanted to pop in. off to bed.
NW: aquamarine pj pants with turquoise design, grey tank top and huge off-white cardigan.

Hello! Fashion board? Wooooow! Started by...err..... Jllm. Hmmmm. I'm not saying a word - but don't worry - I'm generally looking over his shoulder Any "alice band" tips slip through the net though, just IGNORE!!!!!! I'd be here more - but he keeps kidnapping me. Not that I'm complaining mind ;D My hair is getting to expensive to maintain. I went to uber-cool Toni & Guy and they cut it wonderfully - but they leave the "bangs" long so it needs cutting every few weeks. Ohhhh the high price of (trying to be) beauti(ful). Hehehehe. Summer's here ladies. And you know what that means!!!! The skirts get shorter. Huzzahhhhhhhh!!!!

Clarification for samples. Didn’t mean to insinuate any largeness on your part. I simply meant I had pictured you as almost waifish. Tops…… what a question Mary in as much as it does raise the fact that now I realize I don’t put as much effort into it as the rest of the outfit either. Mines pretty boring I guess. Lots of heavy knit (cable et al) sweaters in the winter (I love!! Cowl necks) in beige’s or olive shades. In the summer its lots of sleeveless cotton well I suppose you could vaguely call them safari type shirts (no bloody epaulets though) I’m not that daft. Also in various beige shades (oh god I am dull). I’ll use the excuse that nothing shows off a good tan quite like beige. Jesus a poem is coming, finally. I think the drought is over. I leave you with the title, The Shearing of a Sheep. Prior disclaimer…. Use of the word coffeehouse within said poem is not related to coffee shop. All in good time oh holy one.

Oh rockkid, how I loooove cowl-neck sweaters in the winter. So cozy. Lumen, I envy you being able to cut your own hair- and rock, you said you do the same? I don't think I'm capable of even cutting a straight line, so I think I'd be too afraid to even try... but yes, salons are grossly overpriced. That's part of the reason I don't get my hair cut in Toronto, where any cut seems to be at least 50% more expensive than going back home to do it! NW: indigo jeans, black long-sleeved v-neck cotton/spandex top, black knee-length trench (it's cold in here today!) dark beige suede slides, dark beige clutch, Scooby-Doo bandaid on left thumb (accident with a knife last night, oops)
